The Sunday Post {4}

The Sunday Post is a weekly post hosted by Kimberly at Caffeinated Reviewer. This is a chance to wrap up the week and share what has happened. Continue on to read about what I’ve read, blogged, watched, listened to, played, written and experienced in the last week. I share any current giveaways or recent interviews! You can  also take a peek at what’s to come in the next week!

Books

I read 3 books this past week and they were all rereads! I’m in a slump right now, NOTHING is holding me, its driving me absolutely insane. I reread Bittersweet, Steadfast and Keepsake by Sarina Bowen. I’m behind in that particular series and wanted to read the new ones and decided to reread the earlier ones so that I could remember what happened to the other characters.

I’ve started On the Come Up by Angie Thomas, The Fever King by Victoria Lee and The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert and NONE of them are grabbing me. I don’t think its the books, I just don’t feel it right now.

I recently got the Of Ice and Shadows eARC on Edelweiss and I LOVED the first book by Audrey Coulthurst, Of Fire and Stars, so I’m really super stoked. Its been SO long since I read it – December 2016 – so I’m currently rereading the first one so I can dive into the sequel.

Favorite Quotes of the Week

“Love should feel like the first time you gallop a horse flat out. It should make your blood sing.” – Of Fire and Stars

I thought that it was an appropriate quote for the week of Valentine’s Day!

Sara’s Newsies Corner

Here I share the news in the nerd world that I got excited about this week! It may not contain every bit of news – that would be insane!

It’s been a really slow week for actual news but it was such a fun week for me!

First off, I got to see Panic! at the Disco for the millionth time. Daniel – my boyfriend – got me tickets to see them as a Valentine’s Day gift and I was so so so stoked. We were literally in the furthest section, the highest row, but I didn’t even care. But! Right before Panic was set to go on stage, Daniel was chatting up his friend, Adam, and realized that Adam was there too in a SUITE. Adam told us to hurry up and he totally got us into the suite for the entire show and it was INCREDIBLE. The view was amazing and I am still riding on a high from what an incredible show it was!

Yesterday, Saturday, I met one of my heroes, Catherine Tate. For those of you that don’t know, she played the companion Donna Noble to David Tennant’s 10th Doctor in the fourth season of new who. She is also my absolute favorite companion, hands down. I used to go to Gallifrey One every year but missed last year because it’s gotten to expensive but I said I would go back if Catherine Tate was a guest. Well, sure enough, they announced her about a month ago, I tracked down a badge within the hour and met her! I was only able to go to the convention for a few hours but it was so worth it to meet Catherine. She was incredibly sweet and I was fully star struck, and that hardly ever happens anymore.

Saturday night, I got my 20th tattoo. The 16th of February would’ve been my dog, Scout’s 13th birthday but we unfortunately had to let her go in December. I adopted her in 2006 and she was the best furry companion I’ve ever had. She was the literal best and while it’s been easier each day, I still miss her every day. My sister and I decided to get our memorial tattoos on her birthday and I am so so insanely happy with how it turned out.

Watched

I didn’t watch much this past week but I am hoping to change that this week. The newest season of Dragon Prince is out and I keep getting recommended all kinds of shows and movies so I’m excited to dive in.

The boyfriend and I watched Love, Simon again. I’ve seen it multiple times and it just doesn’t get old. Everything about that movie is just so so good and I enjoy it every time.

I also watched the Fyre Festival documentary on Netflix and that was so incredible and so eye opening and such a serious mind fuck. I super recommend it; it definitely answers a lot of questions about the craziness of that festival.

Listened To

I have literally been listening to nothing but Panic! at the Disco all week because of the anticipation of the concert and then the aftermath of the concert. I LOVE that band so much, been listening to them since I discovered A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out in my senior year in 2005 and I’ve seen them so many times, but honestly, it just never ever gets old.
