Fandom Friday-Hemlock Grove

The Fandom Friday is a weekly feature, with each blog post written by a new contributor.

This is the weekly post where either myself, or a guest blogger, talks about a new fandom. See, I’ve had the experience in my life where I’ve been made fun or put down about my particular fandoms. And that has made me feel pretty crappy. But I’ve also put down other fandoms as well.

So I’ve decided to change that. I’m opening my world up to new fandoms, and the best way to do that is to bring people in to write about various fandoms. I’m very excited about this segment.

A Message to the Critics and the Haters

I’ve been stewing all day. I’ve been on the brink of exasperation and annoyance and yeah, a little bit of anger. And it took this little picture here to make me happier.

But still. I’m frustrated. City of Bones hit theaters yesterday, officially, in most countries. Thousands and thousands of TMI fans have flocked to the theaters, and I know several fans who have seen it more than once, some three times already! I am so proud of this fandom, and I am so proud of Harald Zwart and his team, and our beloved actors for making a great movie.

Book of the Week – The Bride Wore Size 12 ARC

So the past six months or so, now that I’ve reached my one year mark, and have surpassed 2000 followers, I’ve been working on trying to get more ARCs of books coming out. I review books so often that I feel like I need to get my hands on these! So far, I’ve been hooked up with some awesome people and I’ve managed to get my hands on some, and its been awesome.

Recently, Meg Cabot had a contest on her Facebook page. If you took a picture of yourself with a copy of her book, Awaken, which was released back in July, she’d pick a random winner for an advanced copy of her 5th Heather Wells book, which is due out at the end of September. I did it, completely forgot about it and was absolutely ecstatic when I was informed I won.
