Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters Meet and Greet and Red Carpet Premiere

I’m pretty sure that was the longest title I’ve ever written as the beginning of a blog post.

So I’ve been really super busy this week and I’ve been trying to keep up with the blog and various related social media pages but I’ve had such a busy, fun week so that didn’t totally work out the way that I wanted to. So I’m trying to make up for that now.

Wednesday, I journeyed down to the Americana at Brand, in Glendale, with my sister, Jessica, my friend Deb and my friend Sylvia (from FanGirlFeeels) to meet the cast of Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters at the Barnes and Noble there. We got in line fairly early (oh yes, 5:30 am) to ensure we’d get wristbands, and to try and get wristbands to the advance screening.

Fandom Friday – Supernatural

The Fandom Friday is a weekly feature, with each blog post written by a new contributor. This is the weekly post where either myself, or a guest blogger, talks about a new fandom. See, I’ve had the experience in my life where I’ve been made fun or put down about my particular fandoms. And that has made me feel pretty crappy. But I’ve also put down other fandoms as well.

So I’ve decided to change that. I’m opening my world up to new fandoms, and the best way to do that is to bring people in to write about various fandoms. I’m very excited about this segment.

Well, hello there my friends! Hope you guys are all having a great week, and you’re reading lots and watching good movies and good shows, and you’re just all happy.

Tuesday Top Ten – Books I’d Like to See as a TV Show/Movie

One thing that I have noticed in the past few years, especially in the last year, is that so many of the books that I enjoy to read have either been made into the movie or TV show, especially in the young adult genre. Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Twilight, Hunger Games and Beautiful Creatures have already been made into movies. The Vampire Diaries is a very successful TV show. CIty of Bones, Divergent, Catching Fire, Ender’s Game and more are coming out in the coming months, and even more movies are being filmed and being written for the big screen.

Now, I was thinking, even though most movie and book adaptations aren’t perfect and they don’t turn out the way you wish they would, its still fun to see the characters and worlds you’ve come to love come to life on screen.

So I made a list of the top ten books I’d like to see as a TV show or movie. Some of these have been signed on, but we haven’t seen much more than that. So some are “Oh, I wish it would happen” and some are “please I hope this happens some day SOON!”

Vampire Academy Book Review

St. Vladimir’s Academy isn’t just any boarding school—it’s a hidden place where vampires are educated in the ways of magic and half-human teens train to protect them. Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, a bodyguard for her best friend Lissa, a Moroi Vampire Princess. They’ve been on the run, but now they’re being dragged back to St. Vladimir’s—the very place where they’re most in danger…

Hollow Earth Book Review

I’m trying really hard to write book reviews. Short ones, to hold over between Book of the Week posts!

So my goal is to write a small book review for each book that I read, good or bad, and the best book that I read that week will become the Book of the Week post. At least, this will be the plan while I am reading more than one book a week. It’ll also be more ideal because between me and Kat, we can cover WAY more books than we did before!

So get used to WAY more book reviews, and I’m hoping to get better with the movie reviews as well!
