Blogger Spotlight-Jackie from Seeking Bazinga

One of the best parts about running this blog is having the ability to meet some really cool people, this web and some of the coolest people that I have met have led me to really cool blogs. I’ve said it before, no one’s blog is 100% original but everyone’s voices are different so there are blogs that I love to read because I love the writer, and I love the passion that they show for what they are writing. They are fun and interesting to read and they inspire me to get better and better in my blog.

So I decided to do a feature (inspired by Megan at the Nerdy Girlie’s Geek Girls Gab), where I profile the bloggers that I love. Not only do I get to find out more about them, but I also get to share them with you guys! Most of the bloggers that I follow are like me, nerd girls, fan girls and they enjoy the same things as me, and you! Every blogger that I profile is one that is super important to me and I urge you to check them out!

If you are interested in being featured on the Blogger Spotlight, feel free to contact me, please! I would love to hear from you, to feature you on the blog and to help spread the word about it!

Today is a special one for me, as this is the first blog I really started to read and it was the blog that inspired me to start my own blog!

This week’s blogger is Jackie a.k.a. Bazingirl from Seeking Bazinga!

She also goes by her author name, J.J. Zwirn.

Hott Damned Premier

Sara: Tell me a Little Bit About Yourself:

Jackie: I’m a geek. I love almost everything about being a geek. I love connecting with other geeks and going totally fangirl over the awesomeness of the fandom we are talking about, be it True Blood, Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, The Big Bang Theory, Star Trek, Star Wars…it doesn’t matter. Talking geek is what I like to do.

I also love to write, which is why I quit my dead end day job to start writing novels. As soon as I finish one, I hope to be a PUBLISHED author, as all authors do. My writing influences range from J.K. Rowling to Stephen King to Carlos Ruiz Zafón to Shakespeare. I am also a HUGE music nerd. I’ve been singing classical and choral music since the ripe old age of 4, when I joined The Carol Lombard Singers. I’ve sung opera for many years, though was never able to make a career out of it. I also sang with one of the most amazing groups in the history of ever, The Los Angeles Choral Artists, lead by my good friend and mentor Tony Thornton. So that’s me, a card carrying, pong level geek who loves to write and sing.

Book Nerds Having High Tea

Sara: Tell me about your blog:

Jackie: Seeking Bazinga was inspired by one of my favorite TV shows, The Big Bang Theory. I wanted the site to be a place where readers and bloggers alike could come and get their geek on, and be proud, awesome nerds. There are many sites which also inform the public about the happenings in the geek world, which I follow and reference often, but I wanted to put my own spin on it and talk about geek things that matter to me. I will also be starting a vlog with some AMAZING nerd girls of mine called Nerds In Heels, which will be a YouTube channel soon and featured on Seeking Bazinga as well!

Sara: What inspired you to start your blog?

Me at HP Bowling

Jackie: I’d written a blog for several years about sex, which well, tanked to be honest. I’ll admit the idea started out super fun and became completely LAME. Then, one day I felt the need to write an article about Harry Potter. I had just read an article about the Wizarding World of Harry Potter coming to Los Angeles, and felt I needed to write about it. So, I started Seeking Bazinga, so I could inform and basically fangirl about all the fandoms I love.

Sara: What is your favorite nerd memory?

Jackie: My favorite nerd memory? That’s HARD. But I’d have to say that the one that sticks in my head and makes me laugh every time I remember it is when my sister-in-law and I took her daughter to see Ella Enchanted with Anne Hathaway. My sister-in-law had just introduced me to a comic called Sluggy Freelance, which if you haven’t read….you should. From the first strip. Seriously. Go now. Www.sluggy.com. Now, because of the character Bun-Bun, the switchblade wielding bunny, when an attack bunny showed in the movie, I leaned over to my sister-in-law and very quietly said, “ca-click.” She damn near had to leave the theater because she was laughing uncontrollably.

Sara: What are you most looking forward to, as far as new books/movies/etc?

Jackie: The books I am most looking forward to right now is the sequel to Libba Bray’s The Diviners and just this Sunday being told I should read Stephen King’s Dark Tower series by another epic author/nerd girl. Movie wise? MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING DIRECTED BY JOSS WHEDON. OMG, I need to see this so much!!!!! And Man of Steel. I adore Henry Cavill for being hot and British, and now Superman? Yeah. However, I was a DIE HARD Chris Reeve’s fan so, I am trying to go in to seeing it with an open mind. :) Oh, and CITY OF BONES. OMG. Can that movie come out now, please???

Me and Prof McGonnagall

Sara: As my blog is mostly about books and reading, what are some of your favorite books or authors to read?

Jackie: ANYTHING by Stephen King, Harry Potter (always), John Green, Libba Bray, Diana Gabaldon (zomg swoon), Cassandra Clare (yeah, I know people either LOVE her or HATE her, but I read her before I knew any of the internets crazy drama, so, I LIKE her books.), also I enjoy the dilectable works of Jane Austen and Shakespeare. Also, my new favorite book is Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón. Read this book. Seriously. Then read The Diviners.

Sara: What are some of your favorite blogs to follow?

Jackie: Well, I religiously follow What a Nerd Girl Says, of course, because you’re one of my most favorite people in the world, Sara! I also follow The Mary Sue, Geek and Sundry (not a blog but an entire geek home base), Smart Bitches-Trashy Novels, Krypton Radio, RyannPrice.com, to name a few. And I’m always open to new suggestions!

Sara: Who is your fictional crush (what, we’re nerd girls, we all have one!)

Jackie: I have a couple fictional character crushes. When it comes to books, the first one, who will always be my number one is Jaime Fraser from Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander Series. He is the embodiment of Scottish, kilt-wearing sex me up now HUNK! My second is from Larrisa Ione’s Demonica series and is a delicious character by the name of Shade. He’s pretty epic, but then so are his two brothers Wraith and Eidolon. It’s kind hard to pick which one I like the most. However, my absolute NUMBER ONE fictional crush has been and ALWAYS WILL BE: Captain Tight Pants Himself: Malcolm Reynolds. And he is followed a VERY close second by the delicious bad-boy with a heart of gold, Dean Winchester from Supernatural.

Tuesday Top Ten-Favorite TV Shows

Hello, this all. I hope that you had a wonderful weekend. Mine started off on a sour note but turned out to be okay :) I kept myself busy spending time with my boyfriend, my friends and a few books!

But now its that time again, time for the Tuesday Top Ten.

I’ve always told myself that I’m not a big TV watcher, that I’d rather read books. And while that is definitely true; I would rather pick up a novel and read it than turn on the TV and watch, that doesn’t change the fact that there are some seriously awesome TV shows out there. So today’s Tuesday Top Ten is

My Ten Favorite TV Shows

Honorable Mention: Glee

glee-season-1

The reason that Glee gets an honorable mention on this list is this reason: I adored the first two seasons. I own the first two seasons. The first season had a bunch of awesome songs and a fantastic quirkiness to it. Lea Michelle is just plain BRILLIANT in the first season as awkward but talented Rachel Berry. I like season two as well because it retains that quirkiness, and my old celebrity crush, Darren Criss, before fame got to his head and he broke my heart. Now, the show lost its quirkiness, the songs aren’t good (I mean, seriously, they did Rebecca Black’s Friday!) and Darren Criss just isn’t the Starkid that I used to know…Alas, this show just ended way too soon for me. Moving on…

10. Switched at Birth

switched at birth

Okay, so this show is seriously cheesy as hell and all that. For the most, ABC Family does have its share of cheesy shows. But I really like this one. Bae Kennish, dark haired and dark eyed, convinces her family to undergo genetic testing with her very light haired, light eyed parents and POOF! She learns she doesn’t actually belong to her parents. Instead, she was switched at birth and her birth mother, Regina, took home the Kennish baby, named Daphne Vasquez. Daphne, of course, looks JUST like the Kennish parents and doesn’t fit her Latina name in the slightest. To shake things up a bit, Daphne is deaf, due to illness when she was a toddler. Regina, her mother and Daphne all move into the Kennish’s pool house and drama breaks out as the two families learn to live with each other and live with the mistake that was made. Its juicy and drama filled and completely addicting.

9. Pokemon-Season One

pokemon-season-1-indigo-league

When I was twelve years old, this was the coolest thing in the world…to every kid out there. Not only was this a exploding hit show but it came paired with a card game AND a video game…not to mention a few movies that hit the actual theater, instead of just straight to DVD…or was it still VHS back then….Anyway, the story falls Ash Ketchum as he journeys away from home (at ten years old!) to become the greatest Pokemon master there ever was! He has to catch them all, all 150 Pokemon and train them the best he can, to fight in battles (which seems a little cruel…) so he can win all the badges he can in the Indigo League. Now, if you’ve played the game, you want to curse the show…how is it possible that Ash has a Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Squirtle AND a Charmanader? Ridiculous haha. But it still remains one of my absolute favorite shows, one that I actually own on DVD, and I continue to enjoy watching it, even if it isn’t the best show in the world.

8. The Vampire Diaries

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES

This is a VERY recent development in my TV love but it already is included in one of my favorites of all time. Its unbelievably cheesy and of course it has my least favorite plot device ever: the love triangle. But its sort of guilty pleasure, you know? Elena Gilbert leaves the ordinary life in her town, before vampires Stefan and Damien reappear after decades of traveling and it doesn’t take long before she falls in love with Stefan. Of course, falling in love with a vampire doesn’t mean things are going to be easy. Combine that with the fact that Elena is special on her own; she is a doppelganger and her blood holds special powers, and you have a TV show just chock full of very attractive people and a ton of drama. I’m not one for vampire stories but this one is seriously addicting, and its much easier to stomach when you consider that Elena is a much better female character than Bella Swan.

7. Madoka Magica

mahou-shoujo-madoka-magica-2002205

Another recent addition in the past six months, thanks to my brother and an extremely fun trip to Anime Expo to meet the voice actors of the English dub version. So far, its only the one series, where young Madoka goes to school with her friends Sayaka and Hitomi until she meets the strange creature, Kyubey. Kyubey comes from another world, and he can grant any wish you desire, ANY wish, and the trade is that you become a Magical Girl, a girl capable of defeating the witches of the world. Sounds like fun, right? Sounds like a great trade…you get a great wish and you basically become a super hero in the meantime. But, of course, this isn’t how it ends up. Kyubey is sharing secrets from the Magical Girls, and Madoka begins to learn of them through Sayaka, and other Girls like Kyoko, Homura, and Mami. What looks like a sweet and bubbly anime turns out to be a heart wrenching, action packed, dramatic anime that leaves you floored. I just recently went and saw it on the big screen, in its movie version and it was announced that a second installment, a second season/movie will be coming sometime this year. Excitement!

6. The Walking Dead

TheWalkingDead_Wallpaper_02

Okay, I’m sure there aren’t a lot of people out there who actually DON’T watch this show and there’s a reason for it. We’ve all seen the zombie movies; there’s only about a thousand of them in there. And the thing about this show is that it really isn’t that different from the others. The basic premise is still the same. But there are small things here and there that make it different; the fact that everyone has the zombie virus, that Lori gets pregnant, that Shane basically goes insane. Its more than just a zombie show. Its a character study. Sure, the world is overrun by zombies and you need to survive and everything is simply just going to hell. But its the characters that get you in, its the characters that keep you watching because you watch them as they make decisions and screw up, and go insane or stay calm and then go insane. Sometimes the best stories are told in the characters in themselves and The Walking Dead is proof of that, and that is what keeps me watching.

5. Sherlock

1753466

I started to watch Sherlock because I had just finished watching Doctor Who and I was ready to watch a ton of British television. That combined with the fact that Steven Moffat was the writing brains behind it, was enough to get me to watch it. And I LOVED it. It only has two seasons so far, and each season is only three episodes, though they are long episodes. For those of you who have no idea what this is, its an updated, modern version of the stories of Sherlock Holmes. And no, I’m not talking about the completely uncomparable US version, Elementary. Forget that show even exists. Sherlock. Sherlock Holmes is extremely smart, extremely lacking of any kind of tact and extremely obsessed with solving crimes and riddles that others can’t. Paired with his trusty sidekick, John Watson, they solve crimes and have a blast. And get into a TON of trouble, of course. Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman have a great chemistry together and you completely believe in their partnership and friendship. Its been AGES since season two has premiered and we probably won’t get season three until 2014. Sad. Face.

4. Firefly

Firefly

Is there anything that Joss Whedon does that isn’t instant magic? I highly doubt it, and if there is, I don’t want to know about it. Think about it; this TV show aired a decade ago, and people still love, the Browncoats are still out there in large numbers and their numbers are constantly growing. The show never gets old. There’s something about the hodge podge crew of the ship Serenity that can keep you watching. There is someone for everyone on that ship. Captain Mal. Zoe. Wash. Inara. Jayne. River. Kaylee. And on and and on. I think Joss really had something going with this show and that maybe the time wasn’t right for it. Science fiction has always had its fan base but in the last few years, fantasy and science fiction has grown immensely in popularity and it contributes to Firefly’s surge in followers. Its a fantastic show; it has politics and human interest and love and action and drama and humor. So much humor. It is one of my favorite shows because of how quickly you are able to become attached to this rag tag crew and how sad you are when you realize that all you have are those fourteen episodes and a movie.

3. Arrested Development

AD-Widescreen-Wall-arrested-development-2053936-1280-800

I would like to thank my boyfriend for this one. I had never even HEARD of this show when we started watching it together five years ago. I didn’t watch a lot of TV five years ago, mostly because I didn’t realize what was out there amongst all the crap that is on TV. My boyfriend, who was not my boyfriend at the time, and I were hanging out, had nothing to do and so we started watching Arrested Development because it’s his favorite show and he insisted I watch it. It’s about the Bluth family, living in Orange County, California (where I’m from!), going from a rich family to a poor family and the hilarity that ensues. When I first watched it, I didn’t get it. I mean, sure it had its moments where it was funny but I just didn’t get it. But then we started watching it more and thats when it really started to be funny. The hilarity of the show is in the characters and the “inside jokes” if you will. Once you know these characters, the jokes about them become 100 times more funny adn the show is just pure comic brilliance. It is so very sad that this show only lasted three seasons (how is this possible when crap like Jersey Shore lasts for YEARS?) but happily, the show will return to Netflix in a new season this spring. I definitely am counting down the days.

2. Once Upon a Time

Once-Upon-A-Time-once-upon-a-time-28309802-1920-1080

Finally, a show I found on my own, with no help from anyone and that I’ve been watching since the beginning. I remember seeing a commercial for the show and wondering what the hell is this and wow it looks so awesome! It tells the story of Emma Swan, the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming, though she’s unaware of this. She’s living in our world as a bailbondsperson, until the son she gave up for adoption comes looking for her and brings her back to his hometown, Storybrooke. Storybrooke is the home of all the fairy tale charcters that you’ve grown up with: Snow White, Prince Charming, Jiminy Cricket, Red Riding Hood, Belle, Rumplestiltskin, Cinderella, and on and on. But the bad thing is, they don’t know who they are because the Evil Queen is there and she brought them there as punishment. Its brilliant. The best part of it is the alternative fairy tale that comes along with this; its so different from those Disney classics that we all grew up with. But it also brings in a lot of themes and story points from the original stories that were passed on down through oral traditions, in folk and myth tales, before they were ever thought of as children’s stories. Its fairy tales for grown ups and it rocks.

1. Doctor Who

Doctor_Who_Wallpaper

LONGEST RUNNING SCIENCE FICTION TELEVISION SHOW EVER. 2013 will be the 50th year of this amazing, amazing show. And while I have yet to go back and enjoy the awesomeness of the original series, I am so in love with the 9th, 10th and 11th Doctors and I can’t get enough of this television show. It took me years to sit down and watch it, even though people were telling me for years that I would enjoy it. I finally sat down, queued it up on Netflix and literally watched six seasons of Doctor Who in about a month. It was amazing. And its because its so addicting and so much fun. The Doctor is an alien from the planet of Gallifrey, and he is a Time Lord, with a blue police box called the Tardis, that can travel anywhere in space and time. And where the Doctor goes in the Tardis, there is bound to be some universal catastrophe going on and the only person who can ever save the day is The Doctor. He’s serious and he’s brilliant and brave and hilarious and still very, very flawed as well. And he always has a band of companions that both help him and keep him from being lonely. Even though I’ve only been a Whovian for about a year, I can’t imagine what my life would be like without the Doctor.

So, that’s my list of favorite TV shows. I hope that the list changes over the years as I discover more shows and more shows hit the TV. There’s so many awesome ones out there that I love that I didn’t put on this list, like Game of Thrones and Gossip Girl, and my newer shows like Suburgatory and Arrow. There are great stories out there and I can’t wait to see more of them.

What is YOUR favorite TV show?

Top Eleven Badass Fictional Ladies

So a couple months ago (actually kind of awhile ago), information pills I did a blog post on the hottest fictional boy characters. I’m a little boy crazy and I probably could have done more than eleven. But I managed to narrow it down.

Unfortunately, viagra order I got some complaints from my small male audience, viagra saying where is the list of hot girls?

So this is the closest thing I can come to this. I mean, I do like girls and I do think every single one of the ladies listed below are pretty damn hot. I also think a ton of them are hot because they are so badass.

I mean, there is something about a woman with a weapon in her hand that is simultaneously sexy and badass.

I know that a lot of you won’t agree with this list. I know you all have your own opinions which is awesome! Unfortunately for you, this blog is called WhataNerdGirlSays and I’m the “girl” in that and I get to pick :)

So enjoy my list and feel free to complain ALLLLLL you want in the comments. I love to hear it, good and bad haha.

MY Top Eleven Badass Fictional Ladies

11. Elena Fisher

I don’t know how many of you have played the Uncharted games on the PS3, but they are some seriously awesome games. They play well, the stories are fuckin addicting and the characters are so damn real. Half the time, I am content to just watch my boyfriend play because it’s like a movie. Nathan Drake is the main character in these games, kind of a modern day Indiana Jones, who always has a lady by his side and one of those ladies, one that seems to keep appearing over and over again in these games is Elena Fisher. Chloe, the curvy brunette, gets a lot of the fan boys attention but Elena gets my attention. That girl is wicked. She is a journalist, determined to get the story, no matter the cost, and she can handle a gun as well as anyone…and if you need a getaway car, she’s the one to call. Nate Drake can deny it all he wants; he finds Elena sexy as hell and this girl does too.

10. Marion Ravenwood

I don’t care that I wasn’t even born when this movie came out, I mean, my parents were both still in high school when this movie came out. But Marion Ravenwood is easily my favorite Jones girl. She is AWESOME. She is so pissed at Indiana, slaps him in the face and shows absolute disdain for him at times. I really like her because she can hold her own. She can handle a knife and a gun and she’s a tough cookie. No matter what is thrown at her, she relies on herself to get out. After being kidnapped, she doesn’t sit there and think “Oh, I’m just gonna wait for Indiana to save me”, she is clever enough to try and get out of the situation herself. Plus she is so damn sarcastic. I love sarcasm; its a wonderful artform and I love a heroine that can kick ass while having a snarky attitude.

9. Inara Serra

It took me AGES to get into this show. I had heard of it but I didn’t really think it was something I liked. Like Doctor Who, people bugged me enough for me to finally go “Eh, why not?” and I watched it. I figured, its less than 15 episodes and its on Netflix so I can watch it for free. And I am so glad. I went through all the episodes so incredibly fast. And throughout all the episodes, the one character that really caught my eye (besides Nathan Fillion as Captain Mal…hubba hubba) was Inara. Inara is on the ship, Serenity, with the rest of the ragtag crew but she has a slightly different purpose than the other members. Inara is a highly sought after, very classy prostitute. But despite that, she’s so badass. One, she’s gorgeous. Two, she could be on any ship in the galaxy, but she chooses to stay on that one, no matter what happens. And she’s badass in her own right. She’s not always out there in the fight but when she is? I want her on my side.

8. Isabelle Lightwood

Isabelle Lightwood is not the first person I noticed when I started reading the Mortal Instruments. Obviously I noticed Jace Wayland first (HUBBA HUBBA). And then I noticed Clary Fray. Obviously. Clary and Jace are the main characters in this series. But then I started to notice Isabelle Lightwood. Clary gets thrown into this Shadowhunter world at sixteen years old; she has never known anything of it before. You are experiencing this world anew along with her. Isabelle, on the other hand, has been raised a Shadowhunter…and she’s a badass Shadowhunter. She’s brave as hell, and she’s going around, killing demons while wearing short skirts and stilettos. Sexy and deadly. I love the fact that her weapon, her signature weapon, is a gold whip. I mean, can you give her a weapon that is anymore sexy and badass? I have no idea why Isabelle is carrying a flamethrower in the trailer for City of Bones, but who cares? It’s awesome.

7. Katniss Everdeen

Katniss Everdeen is a badass, female character all the way up to Mockingjay. Then she gets whiny. But BEFORE that, she’s badass. She’s too busy feeding her family to worry about boys. I mean, sure, she’s sixteen and its passed her mind. She has hormones, right? And I bet Gale was one hot piece to look at it. But she’s like, “Cool, Gale is hot…I’m hungry”. And that’s awesome. She’s more concerned for survival than anything else. Even when she is in the Hunger Games, and its so beyond obvious that Peeta is head over heels in love with her, she utilizes it to her survival. Now, I’m not advocating using a person who loves but how many of us wouldn’t use that sort of protection when our life is on the line? I admire a girl who puts her own survival above anything else. When her dad died, and her mom gave up, she could’ve curled up in a ball and just let life take her but she didn’t. She remembered what she could do, with plants and hunting (and her badass bow) and she survives. AWESOME.

6. Alianne Cooper of Pirate’s Swoop

Alianne Cooper is sixteen years old, and she’s daughter of the King’s Champion (who is also the first female knight in a century) and the King’s spymaster. Her godmother is the queen and her godfather is the queen. She has adopted aunts and uncles that are the Commander of the King’s Guard, the most powerful mages in the realm and so on. Her brothers are a university student of magic and a page on the path to knighthood. You could say that she has a lot to live up to. And the best part? She totally does, and she almost surpasses them all. She makes the mistake of sailing her boat alone and is captured by pirates and is sold into slavery into the neighboring Copper Isles. When she is given to a family, she realizes that she’s caught up in a rebellion, to take the country back from the tyrannical rulers and give it back to the natives. She becomes the spymaster for the rebellion at sixteen years old and is a pivotal part in its success. And she can handle a pair of daggers pretty damn well.

5. Scarlett O’Hara

Badass. Think about it: Scarlett O’Hara was a young woman, in the South, in the mid 1800s, when women were seen and not heard, there to make good marriages but not much more than that. And Scarlett O’ Hara is opposite of all that. Even in the beginning, when she is sixteen and looking for a husband, she still doesn’t fall into that proper bred Southern woman. She goes for what she wants and she takes whats not hers. Ashley Wilkes doesn’t love her, can’t marry her? Well, then, that’s fine, let’s steal India Wilkes’ beau and marry Charles Hamilton. She’s rash and ferocious and quick tempered and awesome. Atlanta is falling to pieces, the Yankees are coming and she’s like, I don’t care, I want to go and she goes home, even after Rhett Butler ditches her, and her two slaves, a sick Melly, her small child Wade (read the book) and Melly’s newborn. And despite protests amongst all her friends and family, she finds her way back into wealth, doing what she has to do so she is never hungry again. Perfect.

4. Doctor companions

I tried to pick one. I really did. I was like, Rose, duh. But Donna…and Amy! Ugh. So I decided that number four on the list was going to be the four companions of the new Doctor Who series. Rose Tyler is the most badass, taking everything in stride and fixing it. I love Rose because she’s that perfect equivalent to the Doctor; sometimes she’s just one step above him and it’s just awesome. Martha is pretty badass too; she’s a doctor and pretty much saves the world, walking all across it to save it. Donna is one of my absolute favorites: she has such little belief in herself and yet she’s the most important woman in the world. She saves the world! And Amy Pond, oh Amy Pond, the girl who waited. The Doctor’s companions are like Bond girls…except better. Not only are they hot but they are smart as hell and they kick ass. And hell, they keep the Doctor in line and there’s not many who can do that.

3. Clary Fray

I love the Mortal Instruments series. The one thing I don’t like about TMI is the love triangle. I hate love triangles. Please go away. Why do you think that people don’t like Twilight? I know my beef is that I want to tell Bella to shut the hell up about whether to choose Edward or Jacob and just be badass. God. That’s what sets Clary apart. Sure, Simon, plain ‘ol lovable geeky mundane Simon, and Jace, hot, sexy, dangerous Shadowhunter, are fighting over Clary. In my personal opinion, Simon never really has a chance so I don’t know that it was much of a love triangle. But despite Simon and Jace fighting over her, Clary is too concerned on saving her mother, and then saving the Shadowhunters and Downworlders. She comes from Shadowhunter blood, but she’s a mundane, a human, and she’s rushing into vampire lairs to save her best friend and tearing apart ships with powerful runes and making Portals into Idris so she doesn’t get left behind. She creates the Alliance rune, to convince Shadowhunters and Downworlders to work together, against the bad guy, to save the world. And she’s a redhead. I love Clary Fray, she’s awesome.

2. Princess Leia

You know when I decided Princess Leia was the biggest badass ever? When Luke Skywalker walks in to rescue her and she’s like “Yeah? So?” Best. Moment. Ever. She doesn’t know this guy and she’s not falling down at his feet, dying to be rescued. She basically gets herself out of everything. She can handle a blaster like no body’s business, and she runs circles around Luke (ew, he’s her brother haha) and Han. Even when she’s being tortured to reveal the location of the rebel base, she still lies to protect everyone. Her snarky attitude and sarcasm, and her absolute determination to spurn her feelings for Han. She’s fantastic. There’s a part in Empire Strikes Back where she is so concerned on getting everyone else evacuated off of Hoth and its only until Han basically drags her, that she leaves. She is so commited to the rebellion and its awesome; she’s willing to do anything for it. And those buns, there’s never been a hairstyle like that haha.

1. Hermione Granger

Plain and simple, Hermione is the best, most badass heroine ever. You can argue with me all you want. The fact is, she’s smart as hell and she’s never going to dumb herself down for anyone, even Ron. Even though Ron finds her intelligence annoying at times and intimidating at other times, she sticks to her guns and never hides her intelligence and that’s fantastic. And when Ron is an absolute jerk and leaves her and Harry, she carries on. She continues to fight. Her morale is down and she’s sad, and she goes days without saying anything to Harry, but she still fights on, looking for those Horcruxes. And damn, she’s just so smart! She finds solutions to everything and she’s a quick thinker. I don’t know how many times characters in the book are just amazed at Hermione’s brilliance. No matter how many times it happens over the course of the books, you still want to cheer every time she  spouts off a random bit of information or gets them out of a sticky situation. Also, who knew that little dorky Emma Watson would grow up to be so beautiful? Hermione is NOT supposed to be that attractive but she makes it work and its awesome.

So most of you probably don’t agree with my list and that’s okay! Because everyone has different opinions and tastes. These eleven fictional women rock my world and make my palms a little sweaty :) And since I know you all are going to disagree with me, why don’t you share with me your picks! I always love to hear from you guys and I want to know what sexy fictional ladies tickle your fancy :D

Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!

See you soon!
