Who They Are:

Adrian Ivashkov is a secondary character in the Vampire Academy series and a main character in the Bloodlines series. He is a Moroi, a so-called good vampire who has mortality, and is sensitive to sunlight but won’t burst into flames because of it. He is the nephew of the late queen Tatiana, and has the rare elemental power of spirit which includes things like compulsion, dream walking and healing. He is volatile, using alcohol as a solution to the “crazy” that comes with spirit. He has a sarcastic sense of humor, always looking to crack a joke, or have a one-liner. He briefly dates Rose, and she tries to make him a better person but he doesn’t quite succeed. When he brings Jill Dragomir back from the dead using spirit, he’s sent to help keep her safe in Palm Springs and falls in love with Jill’s human protector, Sydney Sage. Sydney is the one who gets him to change and he quits smoking, cuts back on drinking, starts going to college and stops sleeping with random girls.

Why I Am Crushing On Them:

Oh Adrian Ivashkov. I was in love with Dimitri Belikov in the VA series because I was in Rose’s head and I wanted her with Dimitri so badly but I always had a soft spot for Adrian. As soon I started reading Bloodlines and I realized that he was going to fall massively in love with Sydney and vice versa, I knew that I was done. I love his sarcasm and his darkness. You know that I love those bad boys who are really good deep down. In real life, its so annoying but in books, they’re just so irresistible. That snark just gets me every single time. And I love that we see this beautiful slow change in Adrian in the Bloodlines series. I love that, while his personality remains the same, he becomes a better person around Sydney. That’s how you know that’s real. With Rose, he had to force himself but with Sydney, he genuinely wanted to be a better person and I just love it. Every thing that comes out of his mouth is a total win.

Notable Quotes:

“You, know I’m the Queen’s favorite great nephew, Well, yeah I’m her only great nephew, but that’s not important, I’d still be her favorite…”

“Takes a lot of tries before you hit perfection.” He paused to reconsider that. “Well, except for my parents. They got it on the first try.”

“I tried to be a better person for her– but it was to impress her, to get her to want me. But when I’m around you, I want to be better because… well, because it feels right. Because I want to. You make me want to become something greater than myself. I want to excel. You inspire me in every act, every word, every glance. I look at you, and you’re like… like light made into flesh. […] You have no clue how beautiful you are or how brightly you shine.”

“Yeah? Can you draw a skeleton riding a motorcycle with flames coming out of it? And I want a pirate hat on the skeleton. And a parrot on his shoulder. A skeleton parrot. Or maybe a ninja skeleton parrot? No, that would be overkill. But it’d be cool if the biker skeleton could be shooting some ninja throwing stars. That are on fire.”

Adrian returned to his crossword puzzle. “Well, you can think what you want, so long as you remember-no matter how ordinary things seem between us-I’m still here, still in love with you, and care about you more than any other guy, evil or otherwise, ever will.”

“I don’t care if you say we can’t be together. I don’t care if you think I’m the most evil, unnatural creature walking on earth. You can think whatever you want, go whatever you want. I’m going to just go on loving you, even if it’s hopeless.”

“But when I touch you, your aura … it smolders. The colors deepen, it burns more intensely, the purple increases. Why? Why, Sydney?” He used that hand to pull me closer. “Why do you react that way if I don’t mean anything to you?” There was a desperation in his voice, and it was legitimate.”

“I know I’m not supposed to say this, but I love you.”

I totally support Chase Crawford as Adrian ;) I just want Frostbite made so we can cast Adrian…

Fictional Crush of the Week: Clary Fray from The Mortal Instruments Series

In celebration of the end of the Mortal Instruments series, cure this week’s Fictional Crush post is on a character that started it all in this series.

There is a quote from City of Heavenly Fire in the quotes section so if you’re avoiding spoilers, cialis 40mg I would avoid that section.

Character Name:

Clarissa Morgenstern aka Clary Fray

190260_original

Book or Series They Appear In:

The Mortal Instruments Series

City of Bones, City of Ashes, City of Glass, City of Fallen Angels, City of Lost Souls, City of Heavenly Fire

Author/Creator:

Cassandra Clare

Played By:

Lily Collins

Who They Are:

Clary Fray is the main character of the Mortal Instruments series. She’s short, redheaded, and has a love for drawing. She’s an ordinary teenager living in New York when she witnesses a murder, by a group of people that only she can see. When one of them comes back, she meets Jace, who is a half-angel, half-human warrior called a Shadowhunter. She soon discovers that she too is a Shadowhunter, kept secret by her mom for years. She soon gets wrapped up in the Shadowhunter world when a Shadowhunter gone rogue named Valentine starts to threaten the peaceful world that they’ve managed to create. In the second trilogy of the series, she’s forced to come face to face with her brother Jonathan, who literally wants to burn down the world, so he can rule among the ashes.

Why I Am Crushing On Them:

Clary! Clary is a fantastic character in this series and I honestly did not give her enough credit at first, even though she was the main character. I thought she was kind of a trouble maker and that she whined a lot but as I read the books over and over again, I began to like her more and more. I mean, first off, she’s a teenager, of course she whines. And secondly, her troublemaking ways are just her ways of being stubborn and strong. She’s not all that different from me, to be honest. I love that from the beginning, when she’s a simple mundane (human) girl, she’s so brave and strong. She throws herself, untrained, at demons and vampires and more just to save the people that she loves. Its incredible. Its incredible that she struggles to come to terms with her new life, and that she works so hard to become a true Shadowhunter. Without too many spoilers for CoHF, she really becomes a fighter, and fights alongside Jace and Isabelle and Alec and its absolutely incredible. Its so great to see her come that far. She’s determined. She’s also hilarious and has beautiful sarcasm. Plus she’s a little hot tempered redhead and you can never go wrong with that!

Notable Quotes:

“I don’t want tea,” said Clary, with muffled force. “I want to find my mother. And then I want to find out who took her in the first place, and I want to kill them.”

“But I don’t want anything else in the world.”

“I figured all your classes were stuff like Slaughter 101 and Beheading for Beginners.”

“The other ten percent.”

“Well, when I was five, I wanted my mother to let me go around and around inside a dryer with the clothes,” Clary said. “The difference is, she didn’t let me.”

“You know,” Clary said, “most psychologists agree that hostility is really just sublimated sexual attraction.”

“I’m not an angel, Jace,” she repeated. “I don’t return library books. I steal illegal music off the internet. I lie to my mom. I am completely ordinary.”

“When you love someone, you don’t have a choice. Love takes your choices away.”

“I love you, Clary wanted to say. And, I would do it again. I would always ask for you. But those weren’t the words she said. “You’re not my brother,” she told him, a little breathlessly, as if, having realized she hadn’t yet said them, she couldn’t get the words out of her mouth fast enough. “You know that, right?”

“Sarcasm is the last refuge of the imaginatively bankrupt.”

“There are a hundred trillion cells in the human body,” she said, “And every single one of the cells of my body loves you. We shed cells, and grow new ones, and my new cells love you more than the old ones, which is why I love you more every day than I did the day before. It’s science. And when I die and they burn my body and I become ashes that mix with the air, and part of the ground and the trees and the stars, everyone who breathes that air or sees the flowers that grow out of the ground and looks up at the stars will remember you and love you, because I love you that much.”

Fictional Crush of the Week-Isabelle Lightwood from The Mortal Instruments (Re-Post)

Character Name:

Isabelle Lightwood

isabelle-lightwood-1910

Book or Series They Appear In:

The Mortal Instruments Series

City of Bones, order City of Ashes, remedy City of Glass, cialis 40mg City of Fallen Angels, City of Lost Souls, City of Heavenly Fire

Author/Creator:

Cassandra Clare

Played By:

Jemima West

Who They Are:

Isabelle Lightwood is one of the main characters of the Mortal Instruments series. She starts off as a sort of secondary character and she becomes more important as the series goes on. She’s the younger sister of Alec, and the older sister of Max, and the sometimes love interest of Simon Lewis. She has long black hair, dark hair, and she’s beautiful and fierce. She has a great and fun sense of humor, and is a great fighter. Checkout https://pickaloan.co.uk for financial needs. She sometimes comes off as someone who may not be as serious because of her sense of humor and her fashion sense but she is a wicked fighter, and she is incredibly loyal to her family and her friends. She is an amazing Shadowhunter.

Why I Am Crushing On Them:

I absolutely ADORE Isabelle. At first, Clary can be a little annoying. I definitely change my mind on this because Clary will appear eventually on this feature! But Isabelle, from the beginning, was my type of girl. She’s dark haired for one thing, and she just has a charming, sexy personality from the beginning. I like that she has that sense of humor, but she knows when to be serious, and when to act like a warrior. And she’s a badass warrior. She has the best weapon of all with the whip, seriously. I can’t even handle that weapon. Its awesome, and its sexy, and it probably takes a lot of skill and training for it to be an effective weapon. And I love that’s careful, and cautious and she’s so incredibly smart. Sometimes people think Isabelle is just looks, but she’s a fighter and she’s an incredibly clever person. I’ve loved watching her evolve over the series.

Plus have you seen Jemima West? She’s is SO beautiful, and I am major crushing on her. I was very sad when she couldn’t make it to the Los Angeles premiere of the movie :( I was hoping to meet her SO badly.

Notable Quotes:

Isabelle shrugged philosophically. “I’m pure at heart. It repels the dirt.”

“But I watch my brothers give their hearts away and I think, Don’t you know better? Hearts are breakable. And I think even when you heal, you’re never what you were before.”

“What’s the point in wasting a perfectly good brick wall when you have someone to throw against it, that’s what I always say.”

“Isabelle chewed thoughtfully on her straw. “That new lead singer they have is hot. Is he single? I’d like to ride him around town like a bad, bad pony-”

“Nothing less than seven inches! That’s my motto!”

Fictional Crush of the Week-Tony Stark from the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Character Name:

Tony Stark a.k.a. Ironman

3084359-3578001612-Tony-

Book or Series They Appear In:

To make life easier, for sale he appears in about a million Marvel comics and he is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe haha.

Ironman, medications Ironman 2, information pills Ironman 3, The Avengers, The Avengers 2: Age of Ultron

Author/Creator:

Larry Lieber, Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Don Heck

Played By:

Robert Downey Jr.

Who They Are:

I’m going to remind you guys again because I”m still getting complaints. My FCotW’s WILL be spoiler filled. Sorry. I’ve warned you so much time haha.

Look, this could honestly be a whole novel in itself. I am not a comic book person, though I really wish I could be. But there’s so many different universes so I’m just sticking to the story we have of Tony Stark/Ironman in the MCU because that’s what I know.

Tony Stark is the head of Stark Industries, a billionaire and playboy with a reputation as big as the contents of his bank account. When he is captured while on a trip to promote his Stark weapons, he tries to figure out a way to escape and creates the Ironman suit. He learns that his company is selling weapons to the enemy behind his back and sets out to stop it and that’s kind of where his story goes from there. He is open about his identity as Ironman. He’s incredibly smart and goes from using that to develop and tries to create other things, like self-sustaining energy sources. He eventually becomes part of the Avengers and helps defend New York City from Loki and his invading alien race.

Why I Am Crushing On Them:

Um, its Robert Downey Jr? Do you need anything else besides that?

Let’s be honest: I’d make out with anyone on the Avengers team, and that includes the girls. Chris Hemsworth as Thor? Sigh. Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye? Sigh again. Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk? Double Sigh. Chris Evans as Captain America? SIGH. They manage to find the yummiest guys possible to play these superheroes. I’m in fangirl heaven when I watch these movies, especially The Avengers.

But there’s something about Ironman that makes this girl weak in the knees. One, its just kind of the guys I like: the sarcastic, humorous, I-act-like-I-don’t-care-but-I-totally-do sort of thing.  I love it. I love that he constantly just looks massively sexy and then he gets into his badass suit and just throws down. I love that he built his suit on his own and his own brain that makes him a superhero, not any special powers. I love that. I mean, superheroes are awesome and all but I love that the whole thing of Ironman comes from Tony Stark’s brain, and his money, sure, but still its awesome.

And seriously, he cracks me up. His movies have the most humor, easily, and he lends a lot of the humor to the Avengers, definitely. I was googling quotes for this post and I just kept laughing and I couldn’t even narrow it down. I had to stop myself from copying and pasting all the lines in here because they are just so funny. I love that Robert Downey Jr is able to represent so many emotions as Ironman. We get cocky, arrogant, confident, sexy, insecure, caring, loyal, angry, vengeful, all sorts of different emotions and you believe all of them, and he looks so good while doing them.

Notable Quotes:

Tony Stark: Well, you can forget it. I am Iron Man. The suit and I are one. To turn over the Iron Man suit would be to turn over myself, which is tantamount to indentured servitude or prostitution, depending on what state you’re in. You can’t have it.
Senator Stern: Look, I’m no expert…
Tony Stark: In prostitution? Of course not, you’re a senator. Come on!

“My bond is with the people, and I will serve this great nation at the pleasure of myself. If there’s one thing I’ve proven it’s that you can count on me to pleasure myself.”

“I told you I don’t want to join your super-secret boy band.”

“You really have got a lid on it, haven’t you? What’s your secret? Mellow jazz? Bongo drums? Huge bag of weed?”

“Right. Better clench up, Legolas.”

“And I’m a huge fan of the way you lose control and turn into an enormous green rage monster.”

“That man is playing Galaga! Thought we wouldn’t notice. But we did.”

“Alright. Hey. Alright. Good job, guys. Let’s just not come in tomorrow. Let’s just take a day. Have you ever tried shawarma? There’s a shawarma joint about two blocks from here. I don’t know what it is, but I wanna try it.”

Fictional Crush of the Week-Percy Jackson of Percy Jackson and the Olympians and the Heroes of Olympus

That was a really long title haha.

Character Name:

Percy Jackson

Sea-of-Monsters

Book or Series They Appear In:

The Percy Jackson and the Olympians Series

The Lightning Thief, order The Sea of Monsters, The Titan’s Curse, The Battle of the Labyrinth, The Last Olympian

The Heroes of Olympus Series

The Lost Hero, The Son of Neptune, The Mark of Athena, The House of Hades, The Blood of Olympus (not yet released)

Author/Creator:

Rick Riordan

Played By:

Logan Lerman

Who They Are:

I’m going to remind you guys again because I”m still getting complaints. My FCotW’s WILL be spoiler filled. Sorry. I’ve warned you so much time haha.

Percy Jackson is the main character of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, and one of seven important characters in the Heroes of Olympus series. He battles with ADHD and dyslexia his whole life until one day, he discovers that he’s a demigod and that his ADD is to due to his being programmed for battle and being equipped to read Ancient Greek. He is the son of Poseidon and therefore could be the one to fulfill a world changing (perhaps, world ending) prophecy. Together, with his friends Annabeth and Grover, and the rest of the demigods of Camp Half Blood, they must fight to keep Kronos from taking over the world, and throwing it into chaos.

In the Heroes of Olympus, Percy is once again part of a prophecy that involves six other demigods. He has his memory erased, and ends up at a different Camp, where the demigods of the Roman versions of the gods and goddesses live. He helps to bring together the seven of the prophecy so that they can stop Gaea from rising and taking over. (Poor demigods, always fighting big bad guys). In that series, his relationship with Annabeth deepens and he drops into Tartarus with her, and together, they fight their way through to get to the doors, and escape. Now we’re all just waiting patiently for the fifth and final book! AGH!

Why I Am Crushing On Them:

Can I just talk about the fact that its kind of not okay to have a crush on Percy until..at least The Battle of the Labyrinth haha. I mean, he’s like ten years old. That’s creepy. I think I was one of very few people that didn’t mind that they’d aged him up a bit in the movies. But we won’t talk about those haha.

In the books, we find out that Percy’s fatal flaw is that he is unfailingly loyal and committed to his friends. I think that’s exactly why I like him. He ALWAYS risks his life for them. He crosses oceans and fights gods and Titans and all kinds of creatures to keep them safe. He literally drops into Tartarus to be with Annabeth because he doesn’t want to let her go. Who wouldn’t want a friend, or a boyfriend, like that? Someone that incredibly selfless doesn’t actually exist though because, of course, we all have our degrees of selfishness in us, but its nice to have a massive crush on Percy Jackson anyway.

I also love the obsession with blue food. I love that he loves blue Coke and blue cookies and all that stuff. And its more than just the idea of blue food. Its the fact that the blue food thing is a bond between him and his mom. Even when they are stuck with gross Gabe, Sally Jackson still finds a way to shut him down and that’s with the blue food. It’s something that the two of them always have and I love that it means so much to Percy that when he goes to Camp Half Blood and he thinks she’s gone, the first thing he has is a blue Coke. I love it.

Plus Percy is just so funny. The reason that first series is so popular (amongst a million another reasons) is because the narrator, the main character, Percy, is just SO funny. He’s out there, finding out he’s a demigod and trying to save the world and constantly fighting big bad gods or Titans or monsters, and he does it all with a smile and a joke and he makes me laugh. He has a sarcasm that makes those books so good. I love a funny and sarcastic character.

Notable Quotes:

“I nodded, looking at Rachel with respect. “You hit the Lord of the Titans in the eye with a blue plastic hairbrush.”

“Percy: Don’t I get a kiss for luck? It’s kind of a tradition, right?
Annabeth: Come back alive, Seaweed Brain. Then we’ll see.”

“Afterward, I had the last laugh. I made an air bubble at the bottom of the lake. Our friends kept waiting for us to come up, but hey-when you are the son of Poseidon, you don’t have to hurry. And it was pretty much the best underwater kiss of all time.”

“We’re staying together,” he promised. “You’re not getting away from me. Never again.”

All around the Romans, Charleston Harbor erupted like a Las Vegas fountain putting on a show. When the wall of seawater subsided, the three Romans were in the bay, spluttering and frantically trying to stay afloat in their armor. Percy stood on the dock, holding Annabeth’s dagger.
“You dropped this,” he said, totally poker-faced.” (OHMYGOD)

Fictional Crush of the Week: Daemon Black from the Lux Series

Character Name:

Daemon Black

The guy who models as Daemon Black on all the covers…hubba hubba.

Book or Series They Appear In:

The Lux Series

Obsidian, thumb Onyx, story Opal, viagra approved Origin, Opposition (Not Yet Released)

Author/Creator:

Jennifer L. Armentrout

Played By:

No One Yet

Who They Are:

I’m going to remind you guys again because I”m still getting complaints. My FCotW’s WILL be spoiler filled. Sorry. I’ve warned you so much time haha.

Daemon Black is the main character, alongside Katy Swartz, in the Lux series. He is Katy’s next door neighbor: mysterious, extremely sexy and a completely asshole. Katy hates him, until he saves her life, and it comes with consequences. Daemon is part of an alien race called the Luxen, and he used his powers to save her, marking her, making her a target for their enemy, the Arum. What starts out as a grudging need to protect Katy turns into way more. The series follows their love story, and the people they are constantly on the run. In one of the books, Daemon heals Katy from basically near death and this changes Katy and gives her unique powers. Because of this, she is a hot commodity and together, they have to fight to keep themselves safe.

Daemon has dark hair, impossible green eyes, and is ridiculously good looking, because, you know, if I was an alien, that’s exactly what I would look like. He’s unbelievably cocky and teasing and he knows exactly what to say. It takes him a while to admit that he’s falling for Katy, but when he does, he’s fiercely in love with her, and protective and loyal to her. He’s an incredible fighter, and is very very loyal to his family members.

Why I Am Crushing On Them:

Seriously, the first time that I read the Lux series, I was dying. I could not believe that this existed. I remember seeing the cover and being like…no. Just no. I didn’t like it at all. But my friend Megan convinced me to read it and I’m glad I did. They are so guilty pleasure books but I love them, and a huge part of that is down to one Mr Daemon Black. When I first started reading the book, he reminded me so much of Jace Wayland, that I could barely handle it. I think it was the cockiness.

Plus, Jennifer just writes him as this sexy, sexy man and you watch as Katy goes from being absolutely disgusted with him to trying to control her hormones at every turn. I mean, in Obsidian, the first novel, Katy asks Daemon whether he’s equipped like a normal male, and instead of just saying, “Why, yes, Katy, I do have a penis”, he rolls on top of her and rolls his hips to show her that yes, he is anatomically correct. I’m like, what the hell? And he continues to do stuff like that which drives Katy crazy, which drives me crazy. He’s unbelievably and undeniably sexy as a character.

But I also like Daemon as a character, and his development. I like that it takes a long time for him to get openly emotional with Katy, and that it takes a while for him to say “I love you” and that sort of thing because its true to him. There’s no rushed feelings wit him. You see him slowly fall in love with her, and you see his fierce protectiveness of her and the desire he has for, and its just kind of fun to watch it happen.

Notable Quotes:

“Did you think you could stop me? I’ll burn the world down to save her.”

“I will always be in love with you. That’s not going to change today or two weeks from now. I will be just as in love with you in twenty years as I am today.”

“I held her tight, and I knew right then I would burn down the whole universe for her if I had to. I would do anything to keep her safe. Kill. Heal. Die. Anything. Because she was my everything.”

“Another fanboy. I have them everywhere.”

“No Olive Garden? Man, we’ve got to get that boy some endless breadsticks and salad. Travesty.”

Fictional Crush of the Week-Finnick Odair from The Hunger Games Trilogy

To celebrate the release of Catching Fire on Blu-Ray and DVD this week, sickness Finnick Odair is our FCotW!

Character Name:

Finnick Odair

Finnick-odair-the-hunger-games-catching-fire-22880-1280x800

Book or Series They Appear In:

The Hunger Games Trilogy

The Hunger Games (no appearance), Catching Fire, Mockingjay

Author/Creator:

Suzanne Collins

Played By:

Sam Claflin

Who They Are:

I’m going to remind you guys again because I”m still getting complaints. My FCotW’s WILL be spoiler filled. Sorry. I’ve warned you so much time haha.

Finnick Odair is a tribute participating in the 75th Annual Hunger Games from District 4. He is a former Victor, the youngest when he won at 14. He’s a Capitol darling, dating his way through the many attractive people that live there. He is reaped into the Hunger Games from the existing pool of Districts, and this is where he meets Katniss and Peeta for this first time. They don’t trust him right away, shying away from having allies in the Games, but when Finnick saves Peeta’s life (more than once), they become allies. Finnick is rescued along with Katniss and taken to District 13 to become part of the rebellion. We learn more about Finnick, how he was used as a slave to the Capitol and that he’s been in love with a mad girl named Annie for years. They marry, and we find that Annie is pregnant with his child before he leaves to the Capitol to complete the rebellion. In the end, Finnick Odair dies, fighting against the Capitol.

Why I Am Crushing On Them:

Yes, Finnick is the good looking one of the book, and he’s charming and he’s all that but Finnick is more than just a fictional crush to me. He’s my favorite character in the entire trilogy. At first, you really think of Finnick as this sort of shallow, Capitol darling, with a new date every week. But as the story goes on, Finnick becomes a much more complicated character. He’s a fighter, absolutely brilliant with his trident and he fights hard in the Games, and its no question why he won his Games. He’s amazingly loyal. He spends so much of the Games protecting Mags, an elderly woman, even though he probably knows deep in his mind that she’s not going to survive.

But he’s also so extremely complex. He is charming and funny, and extremely attractive but there are demons hidden below. He’s in love with Annie, another victor who went a little mad after her own victory in the Games. He was used by the Capitol, paraded as nothing less than a sex slave, basically, as blackmail to keep those he loves safe. The moment where he sits in front of the camera and spills the secrets of all these important Capitol people is incredible. There’s just so much more under the surface of Finnick Odair, which makes him my favorite character. He’s what you least expect. You think you have a handle on him and he continues to surprise you throughout the entire trilogy and its beautiful.

And yes, okay, Finnick is totally beautiful too. He’s walking around, young and fit, with a small piece of fish nets to cover his private area and he’s beautiful. Then they get the super nice and charming and handsome Sam Claflin to play him (and boy, did he rock it), and its just all one great package.

Notable Quotes:

He looks down at his legs as if noticing his outfit for the first time. Then he whips off his hospital gown leaving him in just his underwear. “Why? Do you find this” — he strikes a ridiculously provocative pose — “distracting?”

“Want a sugar cube?” he asks in his old seductive voice.”

“No.” A long time passes before he adds, “She crept up on me.”

“That I knew I misjudged you, that you do love him. I”m not saying in what way. Maybe you don’t know yourself. But anyone paying attention could see how much you care about him.”

“Oh Peeta…don’t make me sorry I restarted your heart.”

Hey, its me and Sam!
