15 Day Book Blogger Challenge-Day 6

Day 6: Describe how you shop for books

Oh. Oh well. I’m terrible. I have an addiction to shopping for books, so I shop for books all over the place. I shop for them at Barnes and Noble, used bookstores, Target, Amazon, on my Kindle. I am always shopping for books. I support the economy and sales of books in every form possible.

Honestly, before, I used to just walk into a bookstore and STARE at the young adult section for a super long time. I judge books by covers definitely and I would buy books based on that. That’s how I discovered City of Bones. The cover was beautiful and it jumped out at me, and look where that got me.

Now, ever since I joined the Los Angeles Dumbledore’s Army and started this blog, I am surrounded by more readers than I ever have before. Which means I have a ton of people recommending books to me every single day. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.

Then I discovered GoodReads, which got me into a lot of trouble, and my “to-read” list has grown so much.

So my general thing to do now, whether I’m buying it in a bookstore or on my Kindle, I go to my “to-read” list and I see what is on my list that I really want, and is decently priced and there you go, I buy it. Super boring. I buy books all the time, so there’s no real routine to it. I just buy everything.

Goodreads is crack for me. And my to read list only includes intended buys and not impulse buys or “i fell into this rabbit hole and can’t quit it” types of books. I never used to be a of audio books but then i got into them because I can read in the car and hike on the weekend while still “reading.”
