Fandom Friday-Manga!

Hi guys! Welcome to the Fandom Friday! This is the weekly post where either myself, or a guest blogger, talks about a new fandom. See, I’ve had the experience in my life where I’ve been made fun or put down about my particular fandoms. And that has made me feel pretty crappy. But I’ve also put down other fandoms as well.

So I’ve decided to change that. I’m opening my world up to new fandoms, and the best way to do that is to bring people in to write about various fandoms. We’ve had one about the Mortal Instruments/Infernal Devices written by me, and one on The Big Bang Theory as well, written by Jackie, the brains behind Seeking Bazinga. You can expect more from the Fandom Friday, like My Little Pony, Battlestar Galatica, Star Trek, Comic books, and so much more. I’m very excited about this segment.

This week’s Fandom Friday is ALL about manga. It is brought to you by one of my super awesome followers, Kathleen.

Snape: Friend or Foe?-A Response to Seeking Bazinga

So my dear friend, Jackie, a.k.a. Bazingirl, over at the blog, Seeking Bazinga, wrote a post tonight all about Professor Severus Snape of the Harry Potter series. She talked about how as a whole, the Harry Potter universe has made him into a martyr of some sorts, and that some people believe he should be pitied, and some people even believed that James Potter ruined his happiness. It was a really good blog post, and you can read it HERE. Continue reading

Book of the Week-Obsidian

I was thinking last night, and I realize I haven’t been super good with the blog this week so far. I totally skipped out on the Tuesday Top Ten this week. It’s about half way written but I’ve been trying to run my Divergent contest (don’t forget to enter!) and writing all about the Festival of Books and hanging out with my new TMI friends.

And I was thinking last night, as I said, and going…what on earth am I going to write about for the Book of the Week tomorrow? I haven’t really read anything new…not in the last week and I’m not going to remember anything. But I started reading Jennifer L. Armentrout’s Obsidian yesterday, and stayed up allll night to read it. And finished it, at nearly four a.m.

Four a.m.

So obviously I have myself a book of the week and a desperate need of sleep. Like…really badly. I have a book hangover. But it was worthy of a Book of the Week so here you go:

Los Angeles Times Festival of Books 2013! Featuring Cassandra Clare, Maureen Johnson, Veronica Roth, Morgan Matson, Sarah Dessen and more!

I had to come back up to this paragraph to reintroduce this post…because I didn’t realize how long it was going to be! I maybe should have seen the signs from the really super long title…but rest assured, this post is mostly pictures, less words so you don’t have to worry too much! Just enjoy my awesome post, and stop complaining already!

I’m still kind of recovering from the event. It was an absolute blast but I got sunburnt, and really worn out, and I’m all sore from all the walking and lugging the heavy books around and I got a heat rash and all of that. It was a fun weekend that beat me up haha. I’m still totally recovering.

Win an Autographed Copy of Divergent by Veronica Roth!

Oh yes, you read that right. You have found the magical page where you can enter to have a chance to win a SIGNED book, Divergent, from the beautiful and talented author, Veronica Roth.

I had the most magnificent chance to meet Veronica Roth this past weekend at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books. She was SUCH a sweetheart and she signed an extra copy of Divergent for me so that I could give it away to those of YOU who weren’t able to make this event, for whatever reason, like…I don’t know, being in another country!
