MY REVIEW

Please be advised that while I try to keep my reviews as spoiler free as possible, it is almost nearly impossible to do so. This is your warning to perhaps avoid the review until you’ve read the book! Please scroll down for the lovely interview with the author!

I really enjoyed this book. I just caught up in the series about three months ago so its fresh in my mind and its one of my top recommendations right now because I am just so in love with Feyre and Rhysand. I loved that we got to see more to the story, a continuation, especially after the last book ripped me apart so much. It was nice to catch up to these characters and see where they are at, to see Feyre and Rhys finally get to be mates, and be together, and be loved, without the constant fear of war hovering over them at all times. I love that it showed them taking their places as the Lord and Lady of the Night Court. You want this happily ever after for them. You know that this still will not be easy for them but god, do you want it for them and Sarah completely gives you that hope.

What I truly liked about this book was the secondary characters like Cassian, Nesta and Elain. They were so important in the first three books but they were still background characters and I can’t wait to see more from them, to get inside their heads, especially Feyre’s sisters who have had a life that has gone from up to down back to up and down, who have gone from human to fae and have seen way more than they ever could have imagined. The two of them are dealing with it in different ways in this book, Elain is throwing herself back into things that gave her enjoyment and Nesta is on a bender, drinking whatever she pleases and sleeping with whoever is around. Its so interesting to see where these characters go.

Lastly, I am just so impressed with Sarah as a writer. Her world building skills are nearly unmatched by anyone else and she is able to spin a fantasy tale so well that it just blows my mind. The fact that she has successfully written two amazing fantasy series and is writing even more just is so incredible. The fact that she’s been doing all of it while being pregnant is even more insane. I can only dream of writing fantasy fiction the way she does.

5 out of 5 Stars
