I will never be able to stop singing the praises of Allison Tran, The Mission Viejo Library, and Alex and A Whale of a Tale Bookstore. I continue to have some of the most amazing times at this library, meeting some of the coolest authors. I’ve met Meg Cabot, Cassandra Clare (twice), Lauren Oliver and Eoin Colfer at this place.
And yesterday, I had a fantastic time at the Mission Viejo Library once again, for the Summer Lovin’ Tour.
Okay, so one of the biggest things that I’ve noticed in my quest to get writing advice from as many authors as I possibly can is that the advice tends to get repeated over time. And that makes sense. I’m getting writing advice from authors that are successful and of course they are going to have similar writing advice.
But a big one that I’ve always kind of found important and intriguing is the idea of finding your own voice. After years and years and years of telling stories, there aren’t many new stories. So how on earth is it possible that new books are coming out every day? And its so simple: because the story idea may be the same but the voice of the author is very different.
In just a week, one of my absolute favorite shows of all time, Arrested Development will be returning for its fourth season, after being canceled during the third season back in 2006. The rights were eventually released by Fox and Netflix snatched that up and a fourth season was created, produced and filmed. It returns on May 26th, all fourteen episodes, available for streaming on Netflix. I cannot wait.

Yay, can finally post my review and experiences for Star Trek Into Darkness. I wanted to post it right away but, well, I went to the red carpet premiere on Tuesday and the movie didn’t release til Thursday night so…I didn’t want to ruin anything. Or get in trouble. I mean, I didn’t need people tracking me down, and tackling me to the ground because I wrote about the movie before it premiered.

Hello everyone :) Welcome to this week’s Book of the Week. I have to tell you, I read three new books this week and it was kind of hard to narrow it down to just one to review for this week. I chose this one because it most fits what I usually review and its awesome but I’m thinking…

Anyway, I saw this book all over GoodReads and people were talking about it and I’m like, I need to get on this train and I added it to my “to-read” list. Then I went shopping at Barnes and Noble last week to pick up some books to get signed at the Ontario Teen Book Fest and I saw this sitting on the shelf and was like “LOOK AT THAT COOL COVER!” and immediately grabbed it off the shelf.
