So a book that has caught my attention in the last year has been Divergent by Veronica Roth. I read it last year, a few days before the sequel Insurgent came out. I always get lucky with that haha. But anyway, its a REALLY good book and I chose it right away for my book club and my friends enjoyed it a lot. I wasn’t surprised in the slightest when it was announced as a movie.
Fandom Friday-The Big Bang Theory
Hey everyone! Welcome to the second week of my new segment, the Fandom Friday!
Basically what the Fandom Friday is (for those of you who missed out last week’s), its a weekly feature on a different fandom. It came from the fact that…one, I want to understand fandoms that I’m not familiar with or don’t understand or don’t like and two, I just don’t know as many fandoms as I think I do.
So the Fandom Friday was born. Last week, I did the debut post, on the Shadowhunter Chronicles by Cassandra Clare.
This week, my dear friend, Jackie, a.k.a. Bazingirl over at Seeking Bazinga, did a post on The Big Bang Theory, a fandom that I’ve never really been able to get into. Now, we have this lovely post below to tell us allllllll about it.
Book of the Week: Nowhere but Home
I have a nice little treat for you this week in this week’s Book of the Week. Normally, I do book reviews for young adult novels but this time around, I’m reviewing an adult contemporary/chick-lit novel.
So those of you who are like, ohmygod Sara, please review something besides YA, we are SOOOO tired of it: this is for you!
BioShock Infinite: Worth the Wait!
After what seemed like the longest wait EVER (okay, not ever, but still), Bioshock Infinite, the third installment in the Bioshock video game series, finally hit stores everywhere. The game was announced back in August 2010, after the release of Bioshock 2 in February of the same year. A few years and a couple delays later, we finally got this installment.
Fandom Friday-The Shadowhunter Chronicles
So I’ve decided to start a new segment of my blog called the Fandom Friday
This basically comes from my desire to find more fandoms…and this doesn’t necessarily mean that I’m trying to fill my life with more fandoms but I’m trying to be more open to other ones.
Calling All Fandoms!
A couple days ago I was talking books with someone and they really put down Cassandra Clare.
And the thing is…Cassandra Clare has a back story. She’s had issues with plagiarism and transferring her fan fictions to general fictions. These are things that I’m aware of and honestly I moved on because I enjoy her books. They have done so much for me, and maybe if I would have read them and found this out about her at a different time, I would feel differently but that’s not the way it happened and I don’t. Those books mean a LOT to me.
Then my dear Shaina from The Urge to Write wrote a guest post for this blog about guilty pleasures, you know, books and tv shows or whatnot that aren’t great but we love them anyway.
