Music Monday: “Forget December” by Something Corporate

“Forget December” by Something Corporate

On Christmas morning, this web outside was pouring
All was hopeless in this home
And no one’s speaking, pill no one creeping
to see if she was on the phone
And you were quiet, find this routine riot
was all but practical to me
and if we see it, why can’t we beat it
can we let each other be?

Forget December, it won’t be better
Than I remember it before
and this month only, will be so lonely
and not so holy anymore

New Years Eve came, but nothing had changed
all the problems just got worse
we sat in silence
no routine science could heal the sickness we rehearse
and if I’m talking, my words are mocking
the deaf ears they have fallen on
These words are tainted with years of jaded
Innocence that’s all but gone

Forget December, it won’t be better
than I remember it before
and this month only, will be so lonely
and not so holy anymore, anymore, anymore, anymore
Forget December, it won’t be better
than I remember it before
this month only will be so lonely
and not so holy anymore
Forget December it won’t bet better
than I rememebr it before
a silent night won’t feel quite right
It’s not so silent anymore, anymore, anymore, anymore

On Christmas morning, outside was pouring
all was hopeless in this home

Music Monday: “7 Minutes in Heaven” by Fall Out Boy

“7 Minutes in Heaven” by Fall Out Boy

I’m sleeping my way out of this one
With anyone who will lie down
I’ll be stuck fixated on one star
When the world is crashing down

I keep telling myself
I keep telling myself
I’m not the desperate type
But you’ve got me looking in through blinds
I keep telling myself
I keep telling myself
I’m not the desperate type

Sitting out dances on the wall
Trying to forget everything that isn’t you
I’m not going home alone
Cause I don’t do too well
Sitting out dances on the wall
Trying to forget everything that isn’t you
I’m not going home alone
Cause I don’t do too well on my own

The only thing worse than not knowing
Is you thinking that I don’t know
I’m having another episode
I just need a stronger dose

I keep telling myself
I keep telling myself
I’m not the desperate type
But you’ve got me looking in through blinds
I keep telling myself
I keep telling myself
I’m not the desperate type

Sitting out dances on the wall
Trying to forget everything that isn’t you
I’m not going home alone
Cause I don’t do too well
Sitting out dances on the wall
Trying to forget everything that isn’t you
I’m not going home alone
Cause I don’t do too well on my own

I keep telling myself
I keep telling myself

But you’ve got me looking in through blinds

Music Monday: “Vegas Skies” by The Cab

“Vegas Skies” by The Cab

Its twelve o clock and I need your attention
Its like the alcohol making my head spin
Send me the one the room is a bottle
Keeping me hopeless til I wake tomorrow

And if tonight ever makes a difference
The way that I feel the way that Ill remember it
Ill take this down until the glass remains
Swallow the words that I was meant to say

Its a long drive back to Vegas skies
So I dont, viagra 100mg I make one more wrong turn tonight so

Say goodnight our first goodbye
Ive only got forever and forever is fine
Just take your time
Well stop the clock together
And know that the timing was right

All of these guards they stand tall and defensive
Putting up walls around what was once innocent
It wont let me in but Im stronger than that
Cuz you stole my eyes and Ill never look back

Girl last night I forgot to mention
The way that I feel the way that Ill remember this
When were this young we have nothing to lose
We just the clock to beat and a hand to choose

Its a long drive back to Vegas skies
So I dont, medical I make one more wrong turn tonight so

Say goodnight our first goodbye
Ive only got forever and forever is fine
Just take your time
Well stop the clock together
And know that the timing was right

Its a long way down
Just fall into place and youll fall into me
Well make it out youll see

So say goodnight our first goodbye
Ive only got forever and forever is fine
Just take your time
Well stop the clock together

And say goodnight our first goodbye
Ive only got forever and forever is fine
Just take your time
Well stop the clock together
And know that the timing was right

Music Monday: “Sidewalks” by Story of the Year

This song is one of my favorite songs…ever. It means the world to me. When I saw Story of the Year perform in October of 2013 in Anaheim, approved they played the full “Page Avenue” album, to celebrate its ten year anniversary. I was front and center on the barricade, and it was just the most incredible show. (Its also where I discovered another favorite band, Set It Off). When they played Sidewalks, I sang so loud, I lost my voice and I cried so hard. This song meant the world to me when I first heard it back when I was 15 and at 27, it still means so much to me. Its been a rough week for me, and I thought, this is the perfect song to share :)

“Sidewalks” by Story of the Year

The bridge is all crumbled.

The water soaks into rocks
that fell at the bottom of the road (At the end of the town.)
The town that we lived in.
The memories shaken apart from the weeds that grow

Over the sidewalks,
Running away from the streets we knew,
Sidewalks,
Like the time we thought was made for you.
Oh…

Out on the front porch,
watching the cars as they go by
(Eighteen blue, twenty one grey)
Looking ahead for the first time that we could drive,
Out on our own,
To speed away

From the sidewalks,
Running away from the streets we knew,
Sidewalks,
Like the time we thought was made for you.
Oh…

All of the days have passed us by,
All of the sun is gone… away.

Sidewalks,
Running away from the streets we knew,

Sidewalks,
Running away from the streets we knew,
Sidewalks,
Like the time we thought was made for you.
(Sidewalks)
The bridges are crumpled,
The water soaks into rocks,
(Sidewalks)
That fell at the bottom of the road.

Music Monday: “Maps for the Getaway” by Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness

“Maps for the Getaway” by Andrew McMahon

Parked outside the house we used to live
There’s a light left on inside
Think of all the days we’d spend
Orchestrating accidents
Lights that used to blind us
Somehow they will guide us through the night

Following the outline of your face
I can see your breath move in the dark
Through all the autopilot years
The tears of joy, drug the face of fear
Now that we’re not hiding
Somehow you’re still riding in my car

No cash in the bank, no paid holidays
All we have, all we have is
Gas in the tank, maps for the getaway
All we have, all we have is time

Parked outside the house we used to live
Staring down the green roof and the walls
The balcony, the hills, the pain
The years of hope, the months of rain
Now that we’re outside it, I guess we survived it after all

No cash in the bank, no paid holidays
All we have, all we have is
Gas in the tank, maps for the getaway
All we have, all we have is time

All we have is time
All we have is time

No white picket fence, no job with the government
All we have, all we have are
Mornings in bed, coffee and aspirin
All we have

No cash in the bank, no sign of yesterday
All we have, all we have is
Gas in the tank, maps for the getaway
All we have, all we have is time

All we have is time
All we have is time
All we have is time
