The Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly challenge post previously hosted by The Broke and Bookish and now hosted by The Artsy Reader Girl. You can follow along for each weekly post here. This week’s post is all about those underdog books – books with under 2,000 ratings on GoodReads but that are super super loved. I pre-wrote this blog post so all of these have under 2K reviews right now. Also, it is SO hard to find those- I only managed to get seven! Which is great because that means you’re throwing lots of reviews out there.
Music Monday is a weekly post where you can share a song, a music video or anything musical related that you’re feeling awesome about that week. Here on What A Nerd Girl Says, I will almost always share a song that I’m super into that week and the music video, if any, that goes with it!
Today’s song is my most recent favorite from one of my favorite bands of all time, Panic! at the Disco. I’ve been listening to them since I first picked up A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out in 2005, when I was a senior in high school. I’ve seen them several times and I’m just absolutely in love with their most recent album. This is my favorite song from that album.
The Sunday Post is a weekly post hosted by Kimberly at Caffeinated Reviewer. This is a chance to wrap up the week and share what has happened. Continue on to read about what I’ve read, blogged, watched, listened to, played, written and experienced in the last week. I share any current giveaways or recent interviews! You can also take a peek at what’s to come in the next week!
Novel Share Saturday is the newest in weekly segments on What A Nerd Girl Says. Saturdays are a day to take a break from talking about all the books I’ve read and focus on my other hobby – writing! In this segment, I’ll post excerpts and passages from past, present and future projects, I’ll share short stories and poems, I’ll give advice and answer any questions and so forth. I hope you enjoy!
Last week, I received such fun responses to my original fancasting for my first novel, The Awakened, and I really appreciate that! You guys are awesome. Today I wanted to talk a little bit about the two main characters of my newest novel, Legacy. If you haven’t already, you can read the synopsis and the prologue by checking out the first Novel Share Saturday here.
10 00 p.m.: Lucky is the biggest K-pop star on the scene, and she’s just performed her hit song “Heartbeat” in Hong Kong to thousands of adoring fans. She’s about to debut on The Tonight Show in America, hopefully a breakout performance for her career. But right now? She’s in her fancy hotel, trying to fall asleep but dying for a hamburger.
Its that time of year again! In about one month, hundreds of young adult fiction readers will gather together for the Ontario Teen Book Fest. I say this every year – this event is my absolute favorite of the year. This fest brings together authors and readers and it feels personal. It feels genuine. It feels like a community. A lot of hard work goes into the event and there are always amazing authors appearing!
