Fictional Crush of the Week-The Doctor from Doctor Who

So remember when I said I’d be writing more now that the holidays were over? I promise, view I really do mean that. I’ve just been SO busy. But here we go. I’m going to work on a TON of posts today so that there will be PLENTY for you to read!

Character Name:

The Doctor

PFD159-DOCTOR-WHO-11-doctors

Book or Series They Appear In:

Doctor Who

Author/Creator:

Sydney Newman and others back in the 60s and revamped in 2005 by Russell T. Davies and others.

Played By:

William Hartnell, mind Patrick Troughton, visit this Jon Pertwee, Tom Baker, Peter Davidson, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy, Paul McGann, Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant, Matt Smith, John Hurt, Peter Capaldi

Who They Are:

The Doctor is the main character of the 50 years running television show, Doctor Who. He is an alien called a Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey. He has a spaceship that looks like a police box, called a TARDIS, which can travel anywhere in time and space. He is centuries old and he travels the universe, always in companion with a normal human being or two. He travels to these other places for adventure, and always ends up in some sort of trouble but he always saves the day. When his body is killed, it regenerates into a new form, which leads to all the various actors that have played him.

Why I Am Crushing On Them:

I’m sure people would think “oh she has a crush on the Doctor because David Tennant and Matt Smith are pretty hot.”

And while that is true, I had a crush on The Doctor since Christopher Eccleston and I believe I’m still going to have a crush on him when he’s Peter Capaldi.

The reason that the Doctor is amazing is because he is everyone. He is not human, and there are times when it seems like he doesn’t understand humans and their emotions but there are other times when he is so steeped into emotions that are overwhelming. The Doctor feels the loss of innocent lives, he feels the pain of others. He wants to save everyone, and when he can’t save someone, it really truly affects him. He gets attached easily to people, and he is happy when they are happy, and sad when they are sad.

But he’s also super fun, he’s full of adventure. He’s hundreds of years old, and yet he acts like a child sometime. He wants to have fun, and he gets himself into a lot of trouble because of his adventurous spirit. He dances silly, and he makes the most ridiculous faces and jokes sometimes, and people immediately fall in love with him and his lifestyle because of the personality that he has.

He also has an air of mystery. You don’t really know much about him, and he only reveals small bits of himself. You never learn his real name, though it feels like we get closer and closer to it, just to have it yanked away from us. We are addicted to him because you never know where you’re going next, what you’re going to see or who you are going to meet or what you are going to learn next.

Notable Quotes:

“You want weapons? We’re in a library! Books! The best weapons in the world!”

“The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.”

“In 900 years of time and space, I’ve never met anyone who wasn’t important”

“Always take a banana to a party, Rose: bananas are good!”

“Rose, before I go, I just want to tell you: you were fantastic. Absolutely fantastic. And you know what? So was I.”

“I don’t want to go.”

“I’ll always remember when the Doctor was me.”

Fictional Crush of the Week-Hermione Granger of The Harry Potter Series

Hello, pills my friends :) How are you all doing on this fine week? I apologize for being so MIA this week. It was Christmas and I was working, help and I just started at a new job so there’s that.

Character Name:

Hermione Granger

Hermione-Granger-hermione-granger-26743720-960-1280

Book or Series They Appear In:

The Harry Potter Series

Author/Creator:

J.K. Rowling

Played By:

Emma Watson

Who They Are:

Hermione Granger is one of two best friends to the main character of the series, information pills Harry Potter. She is the brains behind the operation. From the moment that Hermione enters the novel, it is about her intelligence, her cleverness, and less about the physical beauty of her. As the book goes along, and she gains more confidence in herself, her beauty shows. She’s supposed to be one of those girls that is not noticeably beautiful. She is essential to Harry’s journey through out all seven books. She helps him overcome the obstacles in the search for the Sorcerer’s Stone, discovers what the creature is in the Chamber of Secrets (and how it gets around), she is essential to the rescue of Buckbeak and Sirius Black in Prisoner of Azkaban, she helps Harry master each and every spell necessary for his success in the Triwizard Tournament, she comes up with the brilliant idea of Dumbledore’s Army, rocks it over and over and over again in Half Blood Prince, and seriously does so much in Deathly Hallows, its hard to know where to begin.

Why I Am Crushing On Them:

Well, it certainly helps that Emma Watson went from being an adorable child to being an absolutely beautiful young lady. Seriously. Who saw that coming? Remember how Hermione wasn’t supposed to be noticeably pretty? Yeah, that all went downhill as Emma went through puberty and came out looking like a total beauty queen. So yeah, she’s definitely beautiful and lovely to look at while Hermione is taking out dementors and Death Eaters and such.

But its more than just Emma Watson though. Hermione Granger is one of the strongest female characters that I’ve ever read in a novel series. She is incredibly intelligent, and definitely more intelligent and talented than the two main male characters of the novel. And the best  part of that is, she doesn’t hide it. No matter how badly she is teased for it the entire series, she never backs down from showing how intelligent she is or from striving to learn more and more. I admire that so much. She never dumbs herself down, and she certainly doesn’t do it for a guy either, like Viktor Krum, or more important, Ron Weasley. She remains firm in who she is, and I love that. Its such a great example for little girls everywhere and its sexy as hell. She also can manage herself in a quick situation, and in a battle and she is a serious fighter. I also love that when Ron leaves, and she’s so obviously heartbroken, she keeps going. She keeps fighting, because she knows its the right thing to do and she made a promise. Hermione is an incredibly strong character, female or male, and she’s one of my favorites.

Notable Quotes:

“All those poor elves I haven’t set free yet, having to stay over during Christmas because there aren’t enough hats!”

“Just because it’s taken you three years to notice, Ron, doesn’t mean no one else has spotted I’m a girl!”

“I hope you’re pleased with yourselves. We could all have been killed – or worse, expelled. Now if you don’t mind, I’m going to bed.”

“Harry, you’d better beat him in the Quidditch final!” Hermione said shrilly. “You’d just better had, because I can’t stand it if Slytherin wins!”

“Imagine losing fingernails, Harry! That really puts our sufferings into perspective, doesn’t it?”

“Why shouldn’t I?” said Hermione. “Mudblood, and proud of it! I’ve got no higher position under this new order than you have, Griphook! It was me they chose to torture, back at the Malfoys’!”

“Oh, honestly, don’t you two read?”

Can we just appreciate that this gif is literally Hermione Granger in a nutshell? ;)

Come back next week for more Fictional Crush of the Week!

Fictional Crush of the Week-Stephen Jameson from The Tomorrow People

Have you watched The Tomorrow People? If you haven’t, side effects you seriously need to. They just had their midseason finale (which BLEW MY MIND) and that gives you PLENTY of time to catch up. Don’t believe me? Check out my five reasons to watch it here.

Here is one of my reasons ;)

Character Name:

Stephen Jameson

Girl Interrupted

Book or Series They Appear In:

The Tomorrow People

Author/Creator:

Originally Roger Price, purchase in the 1970s in Britain.

Played By:

Robbie Amell

Who They Are:

Stephen Jameson is the main character of The Tomorrow People. He’s in high school, plagued with a sleep walking disorder and hearing voices. That is, until he meets Cara, John, Russell and the rest of The Tomorrow People and realizes that there is nothing wrong with them…not in the way he thinks. He has special powers, the three Ts: telekinesis, teleportation and telepathy. He learns his father, who ran out on his family when he was young, was part of this, and is crucial to the survival of the Tomorrow People, as they are hunted down by a secret organization called Ultra. Stephen is recruited to help the Tomorrow People track down his father, and to help do so, he works undercover for Ultra, under the constant gaze of his uncle, Jedikah. He’s an optimistic member of the team, brave and wanting to help everyone that he can, even when it seems impossible. He keeps his powers and his life a secret from his mom and brother in order to protect them, and is a fiercely loyal and loving person.

Why I Am Crushing On Them:

Um, have you seen Robbie Amell? That’s the first thing that would grab anyone off the bat. Robbie Amell caught my eye because I was watching Arrow at the time, and everyone kept talking about Stephen’s cousin, who was coming to The CW on his own show. When I saw commercials for The Tomorrow People, I thought it looked interesting and I have been watching it ever since, completely addicted, and having a ton of fun with the cast live tweeting during the episodes. Seriously that makes the episodes even better.

But like I said, Robbie Amell. A very fine example of male beauty ;) The dark hair, the blue eyes, and the frequency in which Stephen is without a shirt…what is not to like?

But there’s more than that too. I love Stephen as a character. I think we tend to like the bad boys the most, and I definitely do. Jace Wayland, Adrian Ivashkov, Han Solo, Jared Lynburn, etc. By that pattern, I would probably like the character John on the show but that’s not what happened. I think the good guy, the one determined to save everyone, to always do the right thing, is always overlooked and I found that in Stephen’s character. He’s the good guy, the one who literally always wants to do the right thing. And what makes that even better is that he is always stumbling around and making mistakes. He’s getting used to having powers, and using them. he’s not perfect. I can’t stand a perfect character; its so unrealistic and boring. Stephen is figuring things out and making mistakes but he always tries to do the right thing, and tries to take care of the people he loves.

Plus he always has witty and sarcastic lines all the time, and that’s enough to send my heart palpitating.

Notable Quotes:

“If I’m not human, what the hell am I?”
(When I heard this, I was like Clary! Clary says almost that exact line in City of Bones)

“No offense, but any second I’m gonna wake up someplace awful. Maybe another three-way at the neighbors’ place.”

“I’m gonna do what he asked me to do. I’m gonna take care of my family. I’m going to be a better brother, a better son, and a better friend, to both of our species. Because what I’ve realized, is that I can’t turn my back on either of them. The only way I can do all this, is by pretending to be a good soldier, by working for my uncle, staying one step ahead of him. And that is what I’m going to do.”

“Wow, what happened to the whole ‘Welcome Stephen, you’re one of us, we’re the lost boys’ speech?”

Let’s be real. I just wanted an excuse to this gif.

Fictional Crush of the Week-Caroline Forbes from The Vampire Diaries

I hope you’re all having a seriously awesome weekend. I love you all! I hope you enjoy this Fictional Crush of the week. I’m SO tired so I’m kind of rambling and I hope you forgive me!

Character Name:

Caroline Forbes

caroline-1

Book or Series They Appear In:

The Vampire Diaries

Author/Creator:

L.J. Smith

Played By:

Candice Accola

Who They Are:

Caroline Forbes is one of the main characters of The Vampire Diaries TV series. I’m not sure about the book series because I got 50 pages into book one and I wanted to punch someone. I was not a fan. But I DO love the show. Let’s move on, erectile and we’ll talk about TV Caroline, since I know nothing about each Book Caroline.

She’s one of the best friends of the main character, Elena Gilbert. She is kept out of the crazy vampire world as much as possible, until she starts dating Damon Salvatore, who compels her to forget. She eventually becomes a vampire herself, and with the help of Stefan, is able to control her hunger and blend in with human society. She’s the fun of the group, and incredibly ambitious. She plans all the dances, and events, and works hard to become Miss Mystic Falls, and wants every day to be the best day. She wants only the best experiences for herself and those she cares about. She dates Damon briefly but falls in love with Matt and Tyler, and when she does, she is incredibly passionate and caring and loyal.

Why I Am Crushing On Them:

I mean, first off, have you seen Candice Accola? The girl is absolutely gorgeous. I am not usually prone to blondes when it comes to girls but Candice, and Caroline, grabbed my attention on the show almost immediately. I liked how pretty she was, and she has this beautiful blonde hair and…okay…

But I also liked Caroline as a character. No matter what hits her, she keeps going. She’s one of the more resilient characters in the series. She never gets whiny, and when she does whine, its because everyone else is being super emo and she’s just trying to put on a prom or an epic party or something. Caroline’s life changes immensely, once she’s a vampire, and then when her dad dies, and her friends are either killed or become vampires and such, and an evil vampire named Klaus is madly in love with her, but she keeps going. She keeps them afloat. She doesn’t want any of them to fall into completely despair so she keeps them happy and motivated. She reminds them all that there is so much in life to be happy about. And she believes in all her friends, motivates them and takes care of them.

Notable Quotes:

“Mum if I wanna talk boys I`ll call dad. At least he`s succesfully dating one.”

“I am gonna drink until someone is hot enough to make out with.”

“Vampire 101: Don’t wear your breakfast to school.”

“So, you are not like, switching Salvatores, are you?”

“Dad, I`m okay. I`ve learned to adapt. I don`t need to be fixed. I can`t be fixed.”

Fictional Crush of the Week-Peeta Mellark from The Hunger Games Trilogy

In spirit with the rest of my posts this week, check I’m keeping The Hunger Games and Catching Fire trend going by featuring one of my favorite fictional crushes, this Peeta Mellark. By the time this posts, I’ll have seen it twice, and I know I’ll go to see it more times than that. It was a brilliant movie, Peeta is amazing and Josh captures Peeta SO perfectly.

As always, all Fictional Crushes of the Week will have spoilers. Sorry :(

Character Name:

Peeta Mellark

New-Official-Catching-Fire-Poster-Peeta-peeta-mellark-33706581-500-633

Book or Series They Appear In:

The Hunger Games Trilogy

The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, Mockingjay

Author/Creator:

Suzanne Collins

Played By:

Josh Hutcherson

Who They Are:

Peeta Mellark is the secondary main character of The Hunger Games Trilogy, the counterpart to Katniss Everdeen. He is a boy from District 12, the son of the baker, and is reaped into the 74th Hunger Games with Katniss. He has a very open and genuine attitude, and we find out in book one, that he is in love with Katniss and has been for years. He doesn’t have the survival and hunting skills that Katniss has but is incredibly intelligent, and clever, and has a way of being so genuine and sneaky at the same time. He’s caring, and sweet, and the most loving, most deserving character of all the characters in this trilogy.

Why I Am Crushing On Them:

Why would anyone crush on Peeta Mellark? Peeta is the PERFECT boyfriend in that there is literally no boy in the entire world who will ever be even close to what Peeta is to Katniss. There’s just now way. He’s kind and gentle and incredibly intelligent and he’s so loving and genuine and he is so sacrificing and real. He’s the best person in the books, which people recognize over and over again. He knows how to handle every person that comes his way. He knows Katniss and his parents and Haymitch and Effie and his prep team, and the other tributes, and everyone. He knows how to open himself up to all of them, and to gain their trust, but in such a real way. He’s not sneaky. He makes clever moves but they’re never to harm, only to help.

Plus does anyone love anyone else the way Peeta loves Katniss? Honestly? I think not. He genuinely loves her and it takes more than being hijacked by tracker jacker venom to keep him from loving her. Sure, it makes it quite difficult but eventually his love for her survives, and they survive together. Its beautiful. He’s perfection in the form of a male lead character, and I think that’s why Katniss has a hard time with him, because he’s so GOOD, and she doesn’t feel like she deserves him. Hell, no one deserves him. But it doesn’t stop him from being this week’s crush :)

Notable Quotes:

“If you die, and I live, there’s no life for me at all back in District Twelve. You’re my whole life. I would never be happy again.”“It’s not necessary. My nightmares are usually about losing you,” he says. “I’m okay once I realize you’re here.”

“I’m more than just a piece in their Games.”

“So after, when he whispers,” You love me. Real or not real?”
I tell him, “Real.”

“I just don’t want them to change me, if I’m going to die I still want to be me.”

“She has no idea. The effect she can have.”

“I remember everything about you. You’re the one who wasn’t paying attention.”

“I just want to spend every possible minute of the rest of my life with you.”

“I wish I could freeze this moment, right here, right now, and live in it forever.”

“So that day, in music assembly, the teacher asked who knew the valley song. Your hand shot right up in the air. She stood you up on a stool and had you sing it for us. And I swear, every bird outside the windows fell silent…and right when your song ended, I knew – just like your mother – I was a goner.”

“Actually I painted a picture of Rue. How she looked after Katniss has covered her in flowers. I just wanted to hold them accountable, if only for a moment. For killing that little girl.”

Hope you enjoyed this week’s Fictional Crush and that you’ll be back next week for more!

Fictional Crush of the Week-Isabelle Lightwood from the Mortal Instruments

Character Name:

Isabelle Lightwood

isabelle-lightwood-1910

Book or Series They Appear In:

The Mortal Instruments Series

City of Bones, prostate City of Ashes, more about City of Glass, City of Fallen Angels, City of Lost Souls, City of Heavenly Fire

Author/Creator:

Cassandra Clare

Played By:

Jemima West

Who They Are:

Isabelle Lightwood is one of the main characters of the Mortal Instruments series. She starts off as a sort of secondary character and she becomes more important as the series goes on. She’s the younger sister of Alec, and the older sister of Max, and the sometimes love interest of Simon Lewis. She has long black hair, dark hair, and she’s beautiful and fierce. She has a great and fun sense of humor, and is a great fighter. She sometimes comes off as someone who may not be as serious because of her sense of humor and her fashion sense but she is a wicked fighter, and she is incredibly loyal to her family and her friends. She is an amazing Shadowhunter.

Why I Am Crushing On Them:

I absolutely ADORE Isabelle. At first, Clary can be a little annoying. I definitely change my mind on this because Clary will appear eventually on this feature! But Isabelle, from the beginning, was my type of girl. She’s dark haired for one thing, and she just has a charming, sexy personality from the beginning. I like that she has that sense of humor, but she knows when to be serious, and when to act like a warrior. And she’s a badass warrior. She has the best weapon of all with the whip, seriously. I can’t even handle that weapon. Its awesome, and its sexy, and it probably takes a lot of skill and training for it to be an effective weapon. And I love that’s careful, and cautious and she’s so incredibly smart. Sometimes people think Isabelle is just looks, but she’s a fighter and she’s an incredibly clever person. I’ve loved watching her evolve over the series.

Plus have you seen Jemima West? She’s is SO beautiful, and I am major crushing on her. I was very sad when she couldn’t make it to the Los Angeles premiere of the movie :( I was hoping to meet her SO badly.

Notable Quotes:

Isabelle shrugged philosophically. “I’m pure at heart. It repels the dirt.”

“But I watch my brothers give their hearts away and I think, Don’t you know better? Hearts are breakable. And I think even when you heal, you’re never what you were before.”

“What’s the point in wasting a perfectly good brick wall when you have someone to throw against it, that’s what I always say.”

“Isabelle chewed thoughtfully on her straw. “That new lead singer they have is hot. Is he single? I’d like to ride him around town like a bad, bad pony-”

“Nothing less than seven inches! That’s my motto!”
