Tuesday Top Ten-Best of 2013…So Far

Well, guys, its July 2nd. This year is half over, and I can’t believe there’s still six months of awesome left.

The way I see it…2013 has been MY year so far. I’ve had a great year and I’ve had the chance to do a TON of things, I’ve had the chance to meet SO many people and I’m feeling so good this year. I feel like I’m finally on the right track. And not just in WhatANerdGirlSays world either.

My boyfriend just graduated university and I finally got into university, which means I’m on the downhill slope of my degree. Its just been SO great and I’m so happy.

So this week’s Tuesday Top Ten is a little different, and some of you may be a little disappointed, but I just kind of wanted to recap the awesome that has happened to me this year.

Book of the Week – Of Poseidon

Okay, so I know its totally Monday and the Book of the Week post comes out on Thursday but last week got a little ahead of me and I just completely skipped the Book of the Week. I know. I know. Worst book blogger ever.

So the Book of the Week review is a little late but its here, and I’m finally reviewing a book for you. You can expect me to be back on schedule this week, with the Tuesday Top Tens and Fandom Fridays and alllll that super fun stuff.

I am also going to start posting book reviews over at my co-blog, iFandoms Collide. I read a lot of books a week so I’m trying to review as many books as possible and this will be helpful, to spread it out between two different sites. So definitely become a fan of that site, follow it on Twitter or Facebook to keep up with my book reviews.

It’s Time for a Tortall-A-Thon!

Hey readers! We all know how much I SERIOUSLY adore Tamora Pierce and her Tortall books. My good friend, Erin, over at That One Geek Girl is doing a Tortall-a-thon for the month June, moving through all the books of the Tortall universe. She’ll be reading certain books a week and writing reviews for each and every book.

I’ve decided I will be joining her, though I’ll be posting weekly reviews of the books, not individual ones because I’m a busy bee :)

One of the best parts about running this blog is having the ability to meet some really cool people, and some of the coolest people that I have met have led me to really cool blogs. I’ve said it before, no one’s blog is 100% original but everyone’s voices are different so there are blogs that I love to read because I love the writer, and I love the passion that they show for what they are writing. They are fun and interesting to read and they inspire me to get better and better in my blog.

So I decided to do a feature (inspired by Megan at the Nerdy Girlie’s Geek Girls Gab), where I profile the bloggers that I love. Harry Potter Anniversary Editions!

So some of you may already know this but I have yet to announce here on WhatANerdGirlSays, so here we are.

Back in February of this year, Scholastic announced that in celebration of Harry Potter hitting the United States in 1998, they would be releasing all seven books in all paperback with all new covers.

The covers would be designed by Kazu Kibuishi, the author and illustrator of the children’s graphic novel series, Amulet.

Jennifer L Armentrout’s Origin Cover Reveal!

I am so extremely excited to share this with you guys today!

I just discovered Jennifer L. Armentrout and her Lux series about three months ago, and I whipped through the first three books in a matter of days. My jaw dropped at the end of the third book,Opal, and I had to find out what happened next. I was pleased to learn that Origin, the fourth book, is being released by Entangled Teen on August 27th, 2013.
