Now that we have reached early July, I’ve realized that half the year is over and damn, it went by fast. The beginning of 2012 has brought me many awesome things and there is still so much to look forward to these next six months. So now that I am smack dab in the middle of the year, I figured a nice countdown of some of the fantastic things that the year has already brought me and what I am most looking forward to.

My First Anime Expo 2012
The best thing about being a nerd is discovering new stuff.
Honestly. I live for books and movies and tv shows and almost anything that’s science fiction-y or supernatural. I’m constantly looking for my new obsession.
Now my younger brother (one of my brothers, I have like 30 of them) is fairly obsessed with anime and has been going to anime conventions and cosplaying as Tsuna from Hitman Reborn for awhile now. I was supposed to go with him to the big Anime Expo last year, but funds just kept me from going. This year however, he bugged me until I bought my badge, months in advance.
Worst Blogger Ever
I know, I know, its been sooooo long since I posted, it seems.
I do apologize to my three avid readers (are there three? maybe no one reads this! haha)
Anyway, this nerd girl has been quite busy lately and hasn’t had the chance to write an awesome blog post for you guys yet!
However, I’m spending this weekend (today and tomorrow) at the Anime Expo in Los Angeles (only about 35 minutes away from my dear hometown), and will be writing a nice, long AWESOME post on how AWESOME its been.
I promise. Scout’s honor :D
Until then, what’s been going on in all of your nerd lives? What’s been tickling your fancy this week?
Nerd Ink
When I was twenty-one years old, many moons ago in the year two thousand and nine, I decided to get my first tattoo. It probably came as no surprise to anyone who knew me that I decided to get the Deathly Hallows symbol from Harry Potter on the inside of my wrist.
Getting that tattoo really showed me how wide the variety of fandom tattoos really is. If I ever thought I was unique in getting a Harry Potter tattoo, I was so completely wrong. Through my nerdom adventures and my discovery of the Los Angeles Dumbledore’s Army, I’ve really experienced some of the awesomeness in nerd ink.
No One Forgets Their First Doctor – My Top Ten Favorite Doctor Who Moments!
Now, my most recent obsession has been Doctor Who. People have been telling me to watch this show for YEARS and I’ve just never done it. Finally one day, I was bored, the entire series is on Netflix and I decided to watch it.
I powered through the entire six seasons in about a month, maybe less. I watched it for hours before I forced myself to go to bed and as soon as I woke up in the morning. I became obsessed.
This is a fantastic show. It has everything a nerd could want: fantasy and sci-fi, but with humor and charm. Christopher Eggleston, David Tennant and Matt Smith all do wonderful at playing The Doctor, a 900-year-old time-traveling, regenerating alien, who literally can’t go anywhere without the end of the universe being at stake.
So I decided to compile a little list of my absolute favorite Doctor Who moments. I do warn you; there are major spoilers (BEEP BEEP SPOILER ALERT!) ahead. If you have never watched Doctor Who, or just don’t care to (though you’re crazy! Why on earth would you not want to watch this show!), I would tread carefully. I don’t want to ruin some of the best things about this fantastic show.
E3: My Favorites
Its that time of year guys. Summer. The time of the big cons, the ones I always live for and love: E3 and San Diego Comic Con. This is when my full nerd comes out; when all the announcements for new games, books, movies, etc. come out and giving me nerdgasm after nerdgasm. With E3 basically wrapped up (and of course, I didn’t go. You have to be so-and-so’s second cousin twice removed to get into that guy haha), I’ve compiled a short list of what excited me the most, what I’m looking forward to the most.
