Izzy and Jules were best friends until Izzy’s family abruptly left Batuu when she was six. But now she’s back, and Jules, the boy who never left, is unsure what to make of her. While on the run from vengeful smugglers and an angry pirate, Jules and Izzy will come to terms with who they are, and what they mean to each other.
As one of the first people to go to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland (read about the crazy story about how I got to go to the opening ceremony here!), I’m so excited for any book that takes place in this new world they created. I have not yet read a book by Zoraida but I have heard nothing but great things and I have really liked so many of the female written Star Wars novel. I really can’t wait to get my hands on a pretty copy so I can take it to Batuu and take a picture!

THE REVIEW
Okay, let me first start off by just saying – as someone with a Disneyland annual pass and frequent visitor to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, I get a small thrill from recognizing places in the theme park in the book itself. Its really cool to have that come to life in a different way. Usually you read something first and then see it come to life but it was opposite for this – seeing it and then reading it but it made picturing Batuu so much easier. I’ve been there, I know what it looks like and it was just so cool. I could picture the story taking place in the places that I know.
I am currently in the middle of reading the book but I can say that so far I really love it, I love the new story and the dual points of view. I really adore Izzy as a character – there’s this determination to her that I just really like and I am always up for a strong female character in the Star Wars universe. I can’t wait to read more and I love that I get some romance too! Honestly this book has felt like an adventure so far and I’m sure it’ll continue to feel so!
