Book of the Week-Shatter Me

Today, I’m posting two book reviews. First off will be the Book of the Week which is the post that you are reading right now. I will post later today the second episode of Sara’s Quick Picks. I have been reading like crazy and have been overloaded with so many books.

And the best part is, I keep getting books recommended to me, which is amazing. Keep that coming. I love to hear what you all are reading. It keeps me all excited and happy to feel like I have a never ending “to-read” list.

And I am SO excited because I received my first ever ARC (advance reading copy). Since I’m a blogger, and I blog mostly about books, I’ve been trying to get my hands on some ARCs for awhile now, with some limited success. By limited success, I mean that I’ve gotten my name out there, sent my address to some publishers but that’s about it.

So I was so excited to receive, by surprise, an advanced copy of The Bitter Kingdom by Rae Carson today. I hope to read that VERY soon and have a review up. Just keep in mind that this book isn’t actually released until August 27th so maybe reading the review is a bad idea :)

But in the meantime, here is this week’s Book of the Week!

Book of the Week-Bittersweet

Hello everyone :) How you all doing today? I hope you’re great and all that fun stuff.

So I am really excited to share this book today for Book of the Week.

I met Sarah Ockler last weekend at the Summer Lovin’ Book Tour stop at the Mission Viejo library. I actually met five new authors that, all of them who I just needed to read. Unfortunately, I could not buy books from all them (being a poor college student will do that) and so I bought two paperbacks, and one of them was the book I’m going to review today.

Book of the Week-Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour

Hey guys! How’s everyone’s week so far? I hope its good. Everything is going pretty well over here in WhatANerdGirlSays corner! Its nice and sunny and beautiful in California right now and I hope that means summer is nearing because I am SO ready for it! So many exciting things to look forward to this summer.

So today is the Book of the Week, and I haven’t read anything NEW this week. I re-read Divergent because I was a little bit on a Divergent high from meeting Veronica Roth and I’m giving away a signed copy of Divergent, so I was rereading that. Now, I’m in the middle of re-reading Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour and I remembered again, what a great book this is and what a great summer read it is too.

Book of the Week-Obsidian

I was thinking last night, and I realize I haven’t been super good with the blog this week so far. I totally skipped out on the Tuesday Top Ten this week. It’s about half way written but I’ve been trying to run my Divergent contest (don’t forget to enter!) and writing all about the Festival of Books and hanging out with my new TMI friends.

And I was thinking last night, as I said, and going…what on earth am I going to write about for the Book of the Week tomorrow? I haven’t really read anything new…not in the last week and I’m not going to remember anything. But I started reading Jennifer L. Armentrout’s Obsidian yesterday, and stayed up allll night to read it. And finished it, at nearly four a.m.

Four a.m.

So obviously I have myself a book of the week and a desperate need of sleep. Like…really badly. I have a book hangover. But it was worthy of a Book of the Week so here you go:

Book of the Week: The Name of the Star

So a month ago when I met Cassandra Clare, I also met Sarah Rees Brennan and Maureen Johnson, who are besties with my Cassie. And they all had this great chemistry and you could tell they were super good friends and Sarah and Maureen were just cutting Cassie off all the time and making me laugh and running around like crazy and…

Okay the point is, I totally fell in love with them and so I knew I had to read their books.
