Fictional Crush of the Week-Michael Moscovitz of The Princess Diaries Series

I am so excited to share this one. Meg Cabot was my first dive into real young adult literature, site when I was 12 years and I first picked up The Princess Diaries. 13 years later, Meg Cabot is still one of my absolute favorite authors and Michael is still one of my biggest fictional crushes.

Character Name:

Michael Moscovitz

Michael

Book or Series They Appear In:

The Princess Diaries

Author/Creator:

Meg Cabot

Played By:

Robert Schwartzman

Who They Are:

Michael Moscovitz is the main love interest of Mia Thermopolis in Meg Cabot’s ten part series entitled The Princess Diaries. As much as I love Robert, and his portrayal of Michael in the first Princess Diaries, he is much better in the book and he doesn’t disappear, like he does in the movies!

He is three years older than Mia, and the brother of her best friend, Lilly. He’s extremely smart, getting into Colombia on early decision, and the treasurer of the Computer Club. He is also incredibly good with math, and helps Mia with it, and is basically the reason that she passes math. He’s musical, and starts a band with other boys in his school, and he eventually invents a robotic arm that is incredibly important to the medical world. He is also a super geek and loves talking Star Wars and Buffy, and all sorts of other things. Michael is tall, with dark, curly, messy brown hair and brown eyes. Also, according to Mia, he has a wonderful smelling neck.

Why I Am Crushing On Them:

Its kind of funny. I first had a crush on Michael when I first read The Princess Diaries back when I was twelve/thirteen years old. He was one of my first fictional crushes before I was completely involved with the world of fandom :) He just seemed so incredibly perfect.

And I swear, I’m not just saying this but my boyfriend is SO much like Michael Moscovitz, it totally kills me. He’s so smart, so good at math (seriously, I would not have passed math in college without him), and he’s musically talented. He even LOOKS like Michael. So okay, that helps. A lot. ;) And I’m kind of like Mia: a writer, socially awkward, incapable of calming down and not being worrisome or paranoid haha.

He’s incredibly smart. He’s musically talented. He’s a nerd. He invents a Cardio-Arm, to assist doctors in heart surgery. He quotes Star Wars and Buffy and all sorts of nerd things at the drop of a hat. He falls in love with a princess, and gets her to fall in love with him. He gives her a Princess Leia flash drive to save her novel on because he knows she loves Princess Leia. I mean, seriously? How can I not? He’s the perfect boy, because he’s the most real character of all the fictional crushes I could have. He’s real. Except for the whole “super-genius-invented-a-new-piece-of-medical-equipment-thing-at-twenty-years-old” thing but he’s genuine. He loves Mia, and he isn’t afraid to show it but he isn’t full of angst, he doesn’t whine, he’s not tragic. He’s very much like my boyfriend.

Plus he waited for Mia! He waited two years while she dated the wrong boy, and he built a reputation for himself, made himself worthy of a princess while working in Japan on his Cardio-Arm and came back, and fought for her. Its so cute and romantic and beautiful and agh. I love Michael.

Notable Quotes:

“Michael has never cried during a Broadway show. Except in that scene where Tarzan’s ape father is brutally murdered. And that was only because he was laughing so hard.”

“Roses are red
Violets are blue
You may not know this
But I love you too.”

“Mia, I’m not sorry. And I’ll wait.
Love, Michael.”
(The fact that he says this after they have an epic makeout session is too much for my emotions to handle)

“Dear Mia,
What can I say? I don’t know all that much about romance novels, but I think you must be the Stephen King of the genre. Your book is hot. Thanks for letting me read it. Anyone who doesn’t want to publish it is a fool. Anyway, since I know its your birthday, and I also know you never remember to back anything up, here’s a little something I made for you. It would be a shame if Ransom My Heart got lost before it ever saw the light of day because your hard drive crashed. See you tonight.
Love, Michael.”
(And he gives her the Princess Leia flash drive! AGH!)

I hope you enjoyed this week’s Crush, and that you’ll read the EPIC Princess Diaries series!

Happy Weekend!

Fandom Friday-Winger by Andrew Smith

The Fandom Friday is a weekly feature, with each blog post written by a new contributor.

This is the weekly post where either myself, or a guest blogger, talks about a new fandom. See, I’ve had the experience in my life where I’ve been made fun or put down about my particular fandoms. And that has made me feel pretty crappy. But I’ve also put down other fandoms as well.

So I’ve decided to change that. I’m opening my world up to new fandoms, and the best way to do that is to bring people in to write about various fandoms. I’m very excited about this segment.

If you guys are interested in becoming a guest blogger for the Fandom Friday, feel free to email me at whatanerdgirlsays at gmail.com or contact me HERE

*      *      *      *      *

I know. I know. I haven’t done one of these in ages. I apologize. I could blame NaNoWriMo or school or any number of things but it all boils down to this…I’m lazy ;)

I also know that technically the subject of this week’s Fandom Friday is not exactly a Fandom. But its a book thats extremely important to me, was one of the BEST reads of the year, and its a book that I literally keep pushing on people. I kept pushing my boyfriend to read it, telling him he was going to like it and it took him ages, but he finally did.

And he absolutely loved it. We spent one night just discussing it, and discussing how good it was, and lamenting and whining about how its not nearly as popular as it should be. He even recommended it to a customer who was looking for a book for her son. I converted him.

So now its time to convert you.

Winger by Andrew Smith

What It Is:

Winger is Andrew Smith’s 6th (7th?) novel, a standalone contemporary YA novel. It follows the story of Ryan Dean West, a 14 year old boy, and his adventures in boarding school. He’s extremely smart, having skipped a couple grades. But he also is a fumbling, awkward, and extremely funny normal teen boy. You follow him as he deals with homework, playing rugby, the always fun trial and tribulations of teenage girls and more. The book is all in Ryan Dean’s head, which means you get his intelligence but you also get his insane sarcasm and humor throughout the entire novel. Not only do you get his narration but you get pictures and diagrams of his life and he’ll have conversations with himself (Ryan Dean 1 and Ryan Dean 2). This book is hilarious. I can’t even begin to tell you HOW hilarious it is.

On the very first page, Ryan Dean’s head is hovering precariously over a toilet bowl, and two kids are trying to shove his head into it. The thoughts that are going through his head while this is happening is enough to grab you from the very beginning. Its a simple story of a boy in high school, but there’s also so much more below as well. In Ryan Dean’s encounters with girls, friends, trouble, mischief, school, and the normal every day life of a teenager, he learns a lot and lives a lot.

How I Found It

I first met Andrew Smith when I went to the Ontario Teen Book Fest. I was an invitee to the Author Breakfast, which was exciting for me and for my blog. I knew a few of the authors like Jessica Brody and Morgan Matson and Marie Lu but others were brand new to me (and most of them became favorites this year). I didn’t know Andrew Smith but after Carrie Arcos told me about his amazing books, I had to introduce myself. He was funny, inspiring and just a great guy to talk to. He talked about his lack of support when he wanted to be a writer, and his desire to support his own kids in whatever they choose to do. It really hit me.

The Teen Book Fest was the unofficial launch of Winger. It was a Saturday event, and the book was set to release on that Tuesday. But they were specially releasing it for the event, and, because I’m not as good with foresight as I’d like to think I am, I didn’t buy it. I put it immediately on my “to-read” list but that was it. Later that day though, I follow Andrew on Twitter and Facebook and such, and discovered that Winger was going to be featured in The New York Times, a couple days before its release. Thats incredible!

So I finally bought it on ebook, and devoured it, and then lamented that I didn’t have a signed copy of it, because its one of the best books that I’ve ever read, and I kept missing all of his signings, and I finally saw him again in October and got it signed. Which felt like a huge accomplishment. Then I spent all the months since June, when I read it, shoving down everyone’s throats. Which is essentially what I’m doing here as well.

Why You Should Be Reading It

Because…because you just should! It is the best book of the year (close second is Rainbow Rowell’s Fangirl). Easily. This book blew my mind. I couldn’t believe how much it made me laugh. The humor is fantastic. Its exactly what I would imagine that a teen boy’s mind would be. After Jon read it, I asked him if it was that way, and he confirmed it for me. Ryan Dean is the realistic mind of a teenage boy. Andrew Smith gives teens more credit than authors in the past and recognizes their intelligence and maturity. But he also recognizes that they’re TEENS. They are full of sarcasm and hormones and awkwardness and all of that. One minute Ryan Dean is talking to friends, or doing homework, and the next, he’s lamenting over a hot girl or punching a teammate in the face. He’s all over the place. He has an amazing, hilarious character.

This is what I tell people, because I feel like it really resonates with the YA audience right now. John Green is the most popular YA author right now. It was shown in the EW’s YA Book Tournament, when The Fault in Our Stars went up against Harry Potter. Thank goodness Harry Potter won. I love TFIOS but its not one of the best YA books. Its just not. But he is the pinnacle of YA right now. You don’t meet YA readers who haven’t read at least one of his books, most likely TFIOS. So people know him.

So this is what I say, which is the truth: Andrew Smith takes what John Green does, and makes it so much better. He doesn’t hold back. He doesn’t go in, careful about language or context. He just writes. He just writes the story, and tells it like it is. Which is what makes it so good. He is genuine in the story he is telling. I tell people, its like you’re hanging out with Andrew and he’s telling you about his time in boarding school. Its not written like someone writing a novel, but just someone telling a story (and yes, there is a difference).

Plus, its funny. Its just so hilarious. Its full of so much humor. Every time Ryan Dean has a conversation with himself, I’m laughing, because I totally do the same thing. How often do we argue with ourselves before we do something? And the drawings and diagrams that are in the book crack me up too. Its full of so much humor, but it has the ability to tug at your other emotions as well.

Look, if that doesn’t convince you, maybe this will. My boyfriend is not a YA reader. He’s read some John Green and he’s read the entire Harry Potter series and he likes both. But he reads Truman Capote and Kurt Vonnegut and authors like that. He’s attempting Ulysses by James Joyce right now and he reads books about MATH and SCIENCE. He tends to stay away from YA, not because he has anything against it (because I would THROW DOWN) but because its just not what he enjoys reading.

But I convinced him to read Winger and he loves it. He loved it so much that he gave me my copy back and immediately bought his own copy. He keeps talking to me about it. It is obviously a book that he enjoyed, and that is saying something. Even if your’e not a YA reader normally, you’re going to like this book. I guarantee it.

*       *       *       *       *       *

I hope this convinces you. If it doesn’t convince you, please feel free to send your address to my email address (under Contact) and I would be happy to pay you a visit, and convince you in person. I’ll do it. Don’t tempt me ;)

Andrew’s new book Grasshopper Jungle will be hitting bookstores in February (I’m counting down the days!), and as the year wraps up, Winger is getting a ton of recognition and accolades. Do NOT miss out on this book. Also check him out at his website, because he’s constantly doing events and you will not regret meeting this awesome author.

Happy Reading!

Blogger Secret Santa Fun!

This year, pills for the first time, I got involved with The Broke and Bookish‘s Blogger Secret Santa. Its the fourth year they’ve done it, and I had to get involved. Secret Santa is a fun thing to do AND its a book/blog version, so its really cool. You are on a “broke and bookish” rule base. You send a book (or two), a card and some goodies to another blogger, and you’ll get your own package as well!

I’m really excited about who I got. I’m not going to say anything because I won’t be able to send hers until Friday, but I’ve got some things packed up for her and I’m excited for when she gets it! I also really like her blog, so that’s exciting.

Packing up some stuff to send to my Secret Santa on Friday!

Packing up some stuff to send to my Secret Santa on Friday!

But today, I got my package from my Secret Santa!

As soon as I saw the package at home, I knew exactly what it was!

This is the first thing I saw when I opened my package.

unnamed

I have a *slight* addiction to Hot Cheetos so I was *slightly* excited about the fact that they were in my box!

Then I dug in. I may be 25 years old but I still loving opening presents just as much as the next person :)

And I was so happy and excited with what I found inside!

unnamed-1

Not only did I get yummies (Hot Cheetos AND chocolate, I’m in trouble!), I got some awesome books that I’ve been looking forward to reading, like:

The Selection by Keira Cass and Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea by April Genevieve Tucholke. I also have my own copy of Lola and the Boy Next Door now, which is VERY exciting, because I absolutely adore that book.

I also got a brand new composition notebook. I have a *slight* addiction to those as well.

unnamed-2

If I look tired, its because I had just gotten off work when I got home and opened this ;)

My Secret Santa, I learned, was Jenna from Book Heartbeats :) She was an awesome Secret Santa to have and you should definitely go follow her blog!

I loved the idea so much that I got together with some of my closest blogger and book friends like Sylvia from Fangirl Feeels and Erin from That One Geek Girl, Jade from Dhampirs and Dragomirs, and more, and we are doing our own little Secret Santa! I can’t wait for that as well, and I’m incredibly excited about who I got for mine!

We’re going to do a Secret Valentine too, so more book sharing. SO Much fun!

Tuesday Top Ten-Best Nerdy Gifts for the Holidays!

Christmas is coming! Its only a few weeks away, dosage and I know what you’re thinking? What do I get for that favorite fangirl/fanboy in your life?

Now, buy information pills there are places like Barnes and Noble and Amazon and all those places that can provide awesome gifts for any fangirl or fanboy, see definitely. I am definitely happy every year that I get a B&N gift card from my boyfriend’s parents. Guaranteed. Every year. But with the fandom life growing all the time, there are so many more options. And I’d like to share some of the cool gifts you can get for a fangirl/boy, or that you can even ask for yourself, that are a little more off the beaten track. Some of these websites are smaller, some of these are handmade, and they are all awesome.

These are in NO particular order at all. These are all awesome things you can get

10. Nerd Shirts on Day of the Shirt

There’s nothing like wearing a tshirt that represents your favorite fandoms. But its even better when its a shirt that not as many people have. Day of the Shirt is a website where you can visit more than a couple dozen different t-shirt websites, all of them who sell really awesome fandom t-shirts. Most of them are fairly cheap (think 10-12 bucks and a couple bucks shipping). The best part of it is that most of the shirts are done by independent artists and are only available for purchase for 24-48 hours, making them limited, and sometimes, even a bit rare. I have a purple “Weasley’s Wizarding Wheezes” shirt that I got off of one of the websites and I get tons of compliments on and I’ve never seen it go up again. You can find all kinds of cool shirts for any fan girl or boy on your list.

9. Bags, Scarfs and More at Bittersweet Stories Designs

I own TWO bags from these lovely ladies. Natasha and Delilah are the dynamic duo behind the super awesome Bittersweet Designs. They are most known for their Mortal Instruments/Infernal Devices fabric designs but they also have Vampire Academy and Divergent. They can make you custom bags and purses, scarfs, headbands, and so many other super cute things. I’ve bought two different bags from them. I have a purse, and a laptop bag and I love both of them so much. They design each one to YOUR preference, and send your proofs, and really take the time to make sure that you’re getting what YOU want. Each one is handmade individually and they’re super sturdy and just beautiful to look at it. I’ve gotten SO many compliments on my bags. Definitely check it out!

8. Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones and More at The Noble Collection

I wish I could buy EVERY SINGLE THING on the Noble Collection but alas, I cannot. But that shouldn’t stop you from diving in and buying some fan collectibles for your friends! This is the place to get prop replicas. The prices can be a little bit on the heftier side BUT these are the legit prop replicas and they’re made solid. I’ve bought stuff on here, and they last so well. They have wands, and such from Harry Potter, chess sets (that are gorgeous!), and so many more things. You can have Bilbo’s sword or Batman cufflinks, or replica dragons from the Game of Thrones. Literally, there is a ton of really cool, fantastic replicas that I wish I could get my hands on. The Noble Collection makes really awesome things and if you have a Potter, Game of Thrones, Batman, LoTR, The Hobbit fans in your life, you’ll want to check out this website!

7. Harry Potter Themed Candy at Sugardukes Sweetshop

I am lucky enough to know the brains and creativity behind this one :) Which means I’ve had the opportunity to try a lot of the delicious Harry Potter themed candy that she has created. Some of the delicious things I’ve enjoyed are Chocolate Frogs, Sugar Quills, Fever Fudge, and more. Her candy is SO delicious. While writing this, I discovered that her shop is closed for the holidays, unfortunately, but I’m keeping her on the list because her candy is delicious and I hope you’re inspired to visit her shop when she gets back on January 1st. She also makes this dill pickle barrels, which are similar to root beer barrels but pickle flavored. I can’t get enough of those. Oh, and she just had me try these new candies that were Love Potion chocolates or something of that sort, and they were so YUMMY! I can’t wait to get my hands on those! She also sells official Harry Potter candy like the Chocolate Frogs and Bertie Botts!

6. YA Book Handmade Shirts and Bags at Fangirl Feeels Etsy Shop

My girl Sylvia has so much creativity and she is ROCKING her Etsy shop. She makes the COOLEST shirts and bags. She took her love of all things YA and is translating into her artistic ways. Right now, she’s making Divergent bags (different factions! I love them!), The Fault in Our Stars bags and shirts, Game of Thrones bags, but message her and she’ll make more! She hand paints everything, which means you know you’ll get a unique and well made product every time. She also made herself and her nephew t-shirts for the Catching Fire premiere (see above) and got a TON of compliments. I’m going to get my hands on an Amity bag one day, I promise. She does an amazing job on all of them, really takes the time to make sure you’re getting what you pay for and she ships quickly :) And like I said, she’s open to custom orders and to making other things, like e-reader cases or laptop cases, things like that.

5. Geek Girl Fare at Her Universe

I first discovered Her Universe at Gallifrey One last year, where I bought my “Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue” Tardis shirt. I LOVE the stuff they sell because its completely aimed at us fangirls! Sometimes there are things out there that I want but it just doesn’t fit right! I’m a girl! I have curves and I want some Doctor Who and Star Wars and Star Trek things that fit me! This is definitely the place to go. AND I just found out that the founder, Ashley, is actually David Eckstein’s wife. I bet that means absolutely nothing to you, BUT David Eckstein is my favorite player EVER from the Los Angeles Angels so I’m, like, fangirling hard about that. But their stuff is awesome! I want it all. There are super cute Doctor Who and Star Wars shirts. You can buy a Tardis dress or a Princess Leia hoodie, or a Spock hoodie. They even have Walking Dead stuff now too. I will go broke buying things from Her Universe!

All pictures copyrighted to Her Universe.

4. Doctor Who/Disney Crossover Merch by Karen Hallion

Karen Hallion is an amazing artist. I follow a TON of fandom artists but she is by far my favorite and the reason is that she combines two things that so many of us love: Doctor Who and Disney. I first discovered her when I saw her Doctor Who and Cinderella fan art and nearly died of happiness. She has done Rapunzel and Snow White and Belle and Mulan and so many more. She does a TON of other fan art too, like fandom art nouveau and she just did a Doctor Who/Hermione Granger crossover that I just DIED for. You can check out her Etsy page and get prints, stationary and more. You can also google her and find authorized websites where you can buy her artwork as phone cases, tablet cases, shirts and more. She is also featured on Day of the Shirt often, on one of the t-shirt websites. She is INCREDIBLY popular and she’s a fan favorite. Definitely a must for any Doctor Who fan.

3. Convention Tickets

You wouldn’t think this is a good present, but it totally is! A lot of convention badges and tickets go on sale around this time of year, and a great present is buying those tickets for a friend. Now, tickets to San Diego Comic Con…probably not your best bet. One, they are really hard to get (I’m an attender of CC and I can’t even get a badge anymore). Two, you have to basically buy your own. BUT, you can buy your friends tickets to your local convention. There are SO many. The link above will take you to a Wiki page that has a list of conventions all over the world! And take my word for it: the smaller conventions actually tend to be more fun than the gigantic ones. So grab some tickets for a friend and buy your own! Its the gift that keeps on giving!

2. Book Themed Jewelry from Hebel Design

I only own one thing from Hebel Design but I so wish I owned more. Viviane Hebel is a YA fan, just like us, and she took her love and talent with jewelry making and started creating jewelry based on some of the books that she loved to read. Now she’s expanded into a ton of familiar titles. She’s made Shadowhunter rings and steles and jewelry from Cassandra Clare’s Shadowhunter Chronicles. You can buy Grisha Trilogy (Leigh Bardugo), Lynburn Legacy (Sarah Rees Brennan), Covenant and Lux series (Jennifer L. Armentrout) and so much more from her. Plus, this is something she is very good at, that she’s spend many years working at, so every piece she makes is crafted to perfection. I have a Clockwork Angel necklace (which is a prized possession of mine) and its beautiful. You can see the time and care that went into making it. If you have a YA fan in your life, you’ll find some really great stuff here. She also makes these beautiful bookmarks, that you can get personalized with book themed charms and quotes from the book!

All pictures copyrighted to Hebel Design.

1. Book Character Dolls from Ellie’s Quirky Creations

I admit, I’m a little biased on this. BUT not without reason. Ellie is my mom. She surprised me, and my sisters and my cousin with these AWESOME Harry Potter character dolls for Christmas last year. Then she made me the 11th Doctor and Amy Pond for my birthday and I custom ordered a Magnus Bane doll to take to the TMI premiere, where I got it signed by a ton of cast members (see below). She has made a TON of amazing dolls, and also does cute fandom ornaments too! Every doll and ornament is handmade and it is made very sturdy, though you should know these are for collecting, not for playing. She has done Harry Potter, Mortal Instruments and Doctor Who but she does take custom orders as well! She has also branched into Despicable Me (minions!), Batman, Hunger Games and more. You can even get sports team themed wreaths too!  She’s done so much that I can’t even begin to show all the cool things she’s been making so definitely check out her Facebook page and place an order.

Blogger Spotlight-Kristen from Recently Acquired Obsessions

One of the best parts about running this blog is having the ability to meet some really cool people, find and some of the coolest people that I have met have led me to really cool blogs. I’ve said it before, try no one’s blog is 100% original but everyone’s voices are different so there are blogs that I love to read because I love the writer, stomach and I love the passion that they show for what they are writing. They are fun and interesting to read and they inspire me to get better and better in my blog.

So I decided to do a feature (inspired by Megan at the Nerdy Girlie’s Geek Girls Gab), where I profile the bloggers that I love. Not only do I get to find out more about them, but I also get to share them with you guys! Most of the bloggers that I follow are like me, nerd girls, fan girls and they enjoy the same things as me, and you! Every blogger that I profile is one that is super important to me and I urge you to check them out!

If you are interested in being featured on the Blogger Spotlight, feel free to contact me, please! I would love to hear from you, to feature you on the blog and to help spread the word about it

This week’s blogger is Kristen from Recently Acquired Obsessions

Sara: Tell me a Little Bit About Yourself:

Kristen: I’m a teen living in SoCal so I’m busy with school and everything that comes with it. But I still find the time for the things I love. I play high school tennis but I love all sports. I want to travel in the future too. I’m a film geek, a dedicated fan of several television shows, a gamer on PS3. I love music and Disney. Then there’s reading, I’m at Barnes and Noble once a week getting a new book. I’ve always been a fangirl but I have only truly ventured deep into the world of fangirling recently.

Sara: Tell me about your blog

Kristen: My blog, Recently Acquired Obsessions, is where I share my passion for books, movies, etc. with others. It is made up of a bunch of reviews of the things I read or watch. Plus, on the first of every month I write about noteworthy things coming out that month. I only started the blog up around the beginning of October so it’s still developing and everything. As it progresses though I’ll have more reviews, event coverage, and hopefully some new features.

Sara: What inspired you to start your blog?

unnamed-1

Kristen: I’ve always wanted to start a blog, I was just waiting for the right time. Not only is it a place where I can talk about the things I love but I also wanted to share with fellow fangirls. Another reason is that I wanted to inspire people to read and see things they might not have heard of. When people say they don’t like reading or anything like that I’m always surprised. Hopefully, with my blog it will show them some things they might be interested in whether it is reading or wanting to watch something. I hope to help people find their passion in these things. I wasn’t going to start it this year but at school after every conversation with my fangirl buddies they constantly asked me to start up a blog and a book club for our school. So I guess the blog was the first step.

Sara: What is your favorite nerd memory?

Kristen: One of my greatest  memories was a signing at the Grove for the movie, Beautiful Creatures. I met some amazing people at this event. The conversations were so natural it was like I was at home. We talked about every fandom and had in depth conversations about any topic we could think of, it was so great. Plus, it was the first time I did a cast meet and greet. Afterwards, my new friends and I met another group and we just merged and conversed for another good hour. It was such a great experience and brought me together with some really great people who I still see at events today.

unnamed-1

Sara: What are you looking forward to, as far as new movies, books, etc?

Kristen:Well, since the year is almost over I’m super psyched for next year’s stuff like new things going on in the Divergent Fandom like the actual movie. Then there is Mockingjay happening and Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters, and The Maze Runner movie. There are countless amounts of books and other movies coming out. I’m also looking forward to more events coming soon. Hopefully, Comic Con 2014…*wink wink nudge nudge*. There is just a bunch of things going on it’s pretty hard name them all.

Sara: As my blog is mostly about books, what are some favorite books or authors you like to read?

Kristen: There are just so many. My two all time favorite worlds have got to be the Percy Jackson / Heroes of Olympus series and the Vampire Academy series. But yeah those are just a three of my favorite series.

Sara: What are some of your favorite blogs to follow?

Kristen: Some blogs I like to follow are Divergent Fans, The Mortal Minute, Fangirl Feeels, City of Shadowhunters, Movies Shows n Books and What a Nerd Girl Says. I also actively keep up with Page to Premiere and iFandomsCollide.

Sara: One last fun question, who is your fictional crush?

Kristen: It’s got to be Percy Jackson. He is just absolutely perfect, I love everything about him. (But I ship Percabeth really hard so I can never claim him as mine. I must set out to find my own Percy.) I mean there are other fictional characters I fell for but Percy is number one for me.
