Tuesday Top Ten-Belated Father’s Day Edition

Okay, visit so I logged into WordPress today to start writing the Tuesday Top Ten, and whoa, its all different. Not hugely different, just vamped up a little bit. So I am momentarily distracted by the new prettiness that is my dashboard…its just so shiny and new…

Okay, sorry.

Moving on, today’s Tuesday Top Ten is a little special. Last month, when it was Mother’s Day, my dear friend Gabby from iFandoms Collide went to an author event where Alyson Noel, Tahereh Mafi, Marie Lu, Kami Garcia, Ransom Riggs, and Margaret Stohl were and asked them who their favorite fictional mothers are. Of course, myself, Tatiana, Gabby, Megan and Sylvia had to jump in and say who our own fave fictional mothers were.

Blogger Spotlight-Shaina from The Urge to Write

One of the best parts about running this blog is having the ability to meet some really cool people, and some of the coolest people that I have met have led me to really cool blogs. I’ve said it before, no one’s blog is 100% original but everyone’s voices are different so there are blogs that I love to read because I love the writer, and I love the passion that they show for what they are writing. They are fun and interesting to read and they inspire me to get better and better in my blog.

So I decided to do a feature (inspired by Megan at the Nerdy Girlie’s Geek Girls Gab), where I profile the bloggers that I love. Not only do I get to find out more about them, but I also get to share them with you guys! Most of the bloggers that I follow are like me, nerd girls, fan girls and they enjoy the same things as me, and you! Every blogger that I profile is one that is super important to me and I urge you to check them out!

Fandom Friday-Percy Jackson

The Fandom Friday is a weekly feature, with each blog post written by a new contributor.

This is the weekly post where either myself, or a guest blogger, talks about a new fandom. See, I’ve had the experience in my life where I’ve been made fun or put down about my particular fandoms. And that has made me feel pretty crappy. But I’ve also put down other fandoms as well.

So I’ve decided to change that. I’m opening my world up to new fandoms, and the best way to do that is to bring people in to write about various fandoms. I’m very excited about this segment.

Book of the Week-Winger

Hey guys! How is everyone doing today? I hope you are all doing awesome.

I know that I am doing particularly fantastic this week. Last week was kind of a downer week but this week has been such a dramatic improvement that I want to run around, singing at the top of my lung, under a rainbow that rains ice cream. I mean, seriously, that’s how I feel right now.

In the last couple weeks, I’ve been really able to put in a lot of effort and work into my blog, and into my new blog (I started an official fansite for Leigh Bardugo‘s Grisha trilogy called The Grisha Army) and I am really excited about it.

But the BEST part about finally having all this time that I didn’t have before is that I’m finally starting to catch on my GoodReads goal. I set a goal of 200 books this year. Which is MORE than doable, but I’ve been busy with school, and life, and the boyfriend, and running this blog! So I haven’t been reading as much; I haven’t had the time to.

But I’m finally catching up! Instead of being 11 books behind, I am now 6 books behind, which is good :) I feel a lot better now. Now I am ready to talk about book #82 for this week’s Book of the Week.

Tuesday Top Ten-Favorite Cliffhangers

So I was hanging out with my girls yesterday, (that would be Tatiana, Sylvia and Paulina, my girls from iFandoms Collide) and of course, most of our conversations center around books. Books books books. I run a young adult book blog, as well as Sylvia, Tatiana runs a Mortal Instruments site and Paulina runs a Divergent site.

Anyway, we obviously were talking about all these books and how we absolutely cannot wait until the sequels or final books, like Allegiant and City of Heavenly Fire and books like that.

And its SO true. There are so many books out there that I just can’t wait for. I can’t wait for Origin by Jennifer L. Armentrout, and House of Hades by Rick Riordan and Allegiant by Veronica Roth and Champion by Marie Lu, and SO so so so many more.

Because let’s face it, these authors? They know exactly how to torture us, how to leave us hanging, dying for the next book, counting down the days just to find out what happens next .

So this is the inspiration for this week’s Tuesday Top Ten: the top ten cliffhangers. These nine books (and one movie) leave us hanging, cursing the authors and lamenting over the fact that we have to wait days, months, years to find out what happens next.
