The Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly challenge post previously hosted by The Broke and Bookish and now hosted by The Artsy Reader Girl. You can follow along for each weekly post here. This week’s post is all about the books that are on my TBR list or shelves but I haven’t read yet…
The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood
I’ve watched the show and it was really hard to watch, in a good way, but still, so fucking emotional as a woman in America. I know I need to read the book but I’m really scared of it and how it may back me feel.
The Last of August by Brittany Cavallero
I’ve gotten about halfway through this book about three times and its seriously SOOOOOO good but the way Jamie feels SO much, the way Charlotte treats him, it hurts my heart and I feel like I need to be on a better headspace for that.
Sky Without Stars by Jessica Brody and Joanne Rendell
I adore Jessica Brody and I have read every single one of her books besides this one. Its partly because I haven’t been in the mood for science fiction at all and also because I’m not a fan of Les Mis so I’m not dying to read a retelling but…its Jessica Brody…
Scythe by Neal Shusterman
Okay, this is going to sound SO bad lol but I love Neal and I’ve heard nothing but absolutely fantastic things about this series but my boyfriend won’t shut up about it and it kind of turns me off from reading it. That is such DUMB REASON to not read a book but there it is.
Deathcaster by Cinda Williams Chima
I need to finish this series but I need to reread the first two books so I can read the third book so I can read the fourth book but have I mentioned that the last thing I want to read is fantasy right now…
Rabbit & Robot by Andrew Smith
Andrew Smith is one of my favorite authors of all time so I usually absorb his books in a matter of hours but for some reason, every time I open this book, I’m just not feeling it…
Tower of Dawn by Sarah J Maas
Empire of Storms fucking killed me – I mean, literally my emotions were so chaotic after that book and I seriously need to read Kingdom of Ash to find out what happened but I know I need to read Tower of Dawn first but its been so hard. Every time I try, I’m just like, I don’t care what Chaol was doing, what is happening to Aelin!
Walk on Earth a Stranger by Rae Carson
I adore Rae Carson – I know I keep saying that but genuinely, she’s the only author I’ve taken a one day, there and back trip out of state to go meet and its because I loved her first trilogy so much. I’ve owned this book since it was released and I just haven’t read it and its just so sad.
Ice Like Fire by Sara Raasch
The first book absolutely blew my mind and I own this book and the third book and I just haven’t read them. I know I’m in a fantasy slump so that’s genuinely my only explanation of it.
Caraval by Stephanie Garber
I had just read Wintersong before this and didn’t really like it and this book felt too similar at first. Then I read about halfway and was really really liking it and then just stopped. Now that the entire trilogy is out, I know I need to pick it up and read it, especially since I own the first two books…
