Top Ten Tuesday: Favorite Holiday Reads!

The Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly challenge post previously hosted by The Broke and Bookish and now hosted by The Artsy Reader Girl. You can follow along for each weekly post here. This week’s post is all about holiday books. Now this is kind of open ended so I tried to pick Christmas-y, winter-y type of books but I also picked some books that I just love to read this time of year. Enjoy!

Book Review: Confessions of an Unlikely Runner by Dana L Ayers, Originally Posted on A Nerd Girl Gets Fit

I’ve been looking for some good non-fiction running books that I can relate to and this one was also on sale for only 2.99 for the ebook and I immediately bought it. I’m glad I did because I read it in one day. I am structuring the review similar to how I structure my reviews on my regular blog because I think it just works!
November Wrap Up and December Goals!
November was an interesting month, to say the least. I attempted NaNoWriMo for the 7th year in a row and though I managed to write 43K words for my brand new contemporary novel, I didn’t technically win because I didn’t reach the elusive 50K goal. I spent a lot of my month writing and a lot of my month running, which means I did not do a lot of reading, which you can see below with the TWO books I managed to read that month.
The blog was also in peril for most of the month – something happened to it, I still don’t quite understand and it took some time and patience and hard work by my friend/webmaster extraordinaire to bring it back to life. Therefore…there also wasn’t a lot of blogging done in the month of November either. I still share the few things below so definitely make sure to check it out!
Here’s the very small recap of the month plus my December goals!

Blog Tour: One Day at Disney by Bruce Steele – Review and Giveaway!
I am so excited to be a part of this blog tour! With Disney+ releasing just two weeks ago, I must admit that I have pretty much spent what little free time I have watching Disney Channel Original Movies on my PS4. Its been amazing and I’ve loved just being surrounded by Disney right now. I love the behind the scenes and a lot of that comes from my time as a Disneyland cast member. It was easily one of the BEST jobs of my life and I can’t wait to go back and work there someday, because its going to happen. This book is in tandem with a documentary coming December 3rd to Disney+ and I can’t WAIT for it!
So this book and this blog tour – I AM SO HERE FOR IT.
Book Review: Truthwitch by Susan Dennard

The Boyfriend Book Review is a recurring column here on What A Nerd Girl Says. My boyfriend, Daniel (read his bio here), is a reader as well. He suffered from what a lot of male readers suffer from – they only read white men! Well, of course, that didn’t really work with this Nerd Girl and he has been making a journey through my massive YA collection. Now we’ve started this column together, to review books that I’ve most likely already reviewed so that we can get a male perspective on it. We hope you enjoy!
Today’s review is actually a little special because its a book I have NOT read. Because its NaNoWriMo and I’ve been busy, I enlisted some help in writing in November! It didn’t entirely work considering the blog was down for most of the month but Daniel was kind enough to write a review for this book!
