One of the best parts about running this blog is having the ability to meet some really cool people, and some of the coolest people that I have met have led me to really cool blogs. I’ve said it before, no one’s blog is 100% original but everyone’s voices are different so there are blogs that I love to read because I love the writer, and I love the passion that they show for what they are writing. They are fun and interesting to read and they inspire me to get better and better in my blog.
So I decided to do a feature (inspired by Megan at the Nerdy Girlie‘s Geek Girls Gab), where I profile the bloggers that I love. Not only do I get to find out more about them, but I also get to share them with you guys! Most of the bloggers that I follow are like me, nerd girls, fan girls and they enjoy the same things as me, and you! Every blogger that I profile is one that is super important to me and I urge you to check them out!
So welcome to the first ever, Blogger Spotlight :)

Sara: Tell me a Little Bit About Yourself:
Paulina: Hi I’m Paulina! I run IamDivergent.com (a Divergent fansite) and I love books, movies, food and people. I love Divergent because it rocks (ok that’s not the only reason but bear with me, trying to keep this “short” & “little” ;) ). I have always been an overall fangirl and I’m loving every part of it. I’m 17 and I live in So Cal and I’m trying to make life as fun as it can be. Fun facts! I was born in Mexico and I play the oboe. Woo!
Sara: Tell me about your blog:
Paulina: I am Divergent is a Divergent fansite that follows the latest news & updates related to the Divergent trilogy. (You can get your daily dose of Tris, Four and the rest of the gang at the site!). It is also a good source of material, the site features information about Divergent (Book & Movie), Insurgent, Allegiant, Free Four, Useful Links and more. Basically all you need if you’re feeling Divergent!
Sara: What inspired you to start your blog?
This is me meeting Veronica Roth. That wasn’t the first time I met her, but it was the first time I could get my book signed and act like a foolish fangirl. I didn’t have to “act cool” thank goodness. I’m bad at that.
Paulina: When I read Divergent I immediately fell in love. I loved it so much, everything about it, and I wanted so badly to be a part or to be involved in the world of Divergent somehow. I had followed fansites for other series in the past and I loved every part of them. I would watch how the fansites would bring people together with common interests and passions and how useful and genuine they fansites all were. I suddenly realized how much I wanted to have my own fansite, how much I wanted to do that for others, especially for a series like Divergent that I fell in love with so strongly. I realized there were already other really great and amazing Divergent fansites out there, but I wanted to be a part of it so badly that I just went for it. And I’m so glad I did! Everyone has been so welcoming and kind. Being a part of a fandom, especially this one, is one of the best things that has ever happened to me in life.
Sara: What is your favorite nerd memory?
Paulina: My favorite nerd memory is when I camped out for the Hunger Games premiere in March last year. That was basically my introduction to nerd-life. I was a noob when I went but I quickly realized I belonged there (I was with my people!). Everyone at school told me I was crazy for camping out in the streets of Downtown LA for a movie, or for waiting in line for hours just to get a glimpse at the awesome people who brought the book to life but that’s when I realized that they’re not as cool as us. Nerd life is much more fun and I made so many life long friendships at the camp out I was surprised I hadn’t tried it sooner. That will forever be my favorite memory because it introduced me to this awesome fun life I am living now.
The third and fourth pictures were at the hunger games camp out. A group of us that met through facebook met up on Saturday night, March 10th, 2012 (yes, I remember the exact date) at Starbucks then went across the street and started the line for the camp out at 1 am. We stayed up all night till we could “officially” begin camping out at 6 am on Sunday. We were the first 22 in line, group 22, and we are still really close friends to this day!
Sara: What are you most looking forward to, as far as new books/movies/etc?
Paulina: ALLEGIANT & DIVERGENT MOVIE (AAAH!)
Sara: As my blog is mostly about books and reading, what are some of your favorite books or authors to read?
Paulina: Divergent (duh), The Hunger Games, Twilight, The Host. I haven’t read The Mortal Instruments yet but I already know I’ll love it. So might as well put it on the list.
This picture is of my mom, my dad, my cousin and me camping out for Breaking Dawn Part 2! I love that picture because it shows that I’m not the only nerd in the family. We’re all just and crazy and fun and loving and nerdy! A fangirl family!
Sara: What are some of your favorite blogs to follow?
Paulina: WhataNerdGirlSays! ;) FangirlFeeels, CityofShadowhunters, SmittenKitchen & 101Cookbooks (i’m a foodie too).
Sara: Who is your fictional crush (what, we’re nerd girls, we all have one!)
Paulina: Is this even a question, um… FOUR. I don’t usually crush on the main character, i’m a side character gal, but Four stole my heart! And Theo James who will play him is so perfect. I can’t wait to see him as Four!
One Last Word from Paulina:
Shout out to Sara (whatanerdgirlsays) who is awesome! Thanks for including me in this!
