Blogger Spotlight-Erin from That One Geek Girl

One of the best parts about running this blog is having the ability to meet some really cool people, and some of the coolest people that I have met have led me to really cool blogs. I’ve said it before, no one’s blog is 100% original but everyone’s voices are different so there are blogs that I love to read because I love the writer, and I love the passion that they show for what they are writing. They are fun and interesting to read and they inspire me to get better and better in my blog.

So I decided to do a feature (inspired by Megan at the Nerdy Girlie’s Geek Girls Gab), where I profile the bloggers that I love. Not only do I get to find out more about them, but I also get to share them with you guys! Most of the bloggers that I follow are like me, nerd girls, fan girls and they enjoy the same things as me, and you! Every blogger that I profile is one that is super important to me and I urge you to check them out!

Fandom Friday – Harry Potter Series

The Fandom Friday is a weekly feature, with each blog post written by a new contributor.

This is the weekly post where either myself, or a guest blogger, talks about a new fandom. See, I’ve had the experience in my life where I’ve been made fun or put down about my particular fandoms. And that has made me feel pretty crappy. But I’ve also put down other fandoms as well.

So I’ve decided to change that. I’m opening my world up to new fandoms, and the best way to do that is to bring people in to write about various fandoms. I’m very excited about this segment.

Tuesday Top Ten-Favorite Romantic/Sexy Scenes!

Apparently I am in a super romantic mode right now because I am continuing the romantic Tuesday Top Tens. I got the idea for this one from my dear author friend, Erin Albert, who read last week’s top ten and suggested something very similar to this one that I am doing right now.

I liked the idea because there are so many movies and books, TV shows, etc, where you wait and wait and wait for that moment, the moment that we’ve been building up to for way too long and when it finally happens, you want to squeal with happiness. Or there are those scenes that surprise you out of no where and you’re suddenly blushing. I love it. I love that a book or movie can make you feel that way and so I’m counting down some of my absolute favorite moments.

Nerd Ink, Part Two!

So this week has been hard as far as blog posts have gone. I’ve been writing a lot of these at the beginning of the week, and scheduling them to be posted on the day that they are supposed to be posted. My best friend is getting married today (tomorrow, from my perspective) and I’m just SO busy. I was also unable to find a contributor for the Fandom Friday this week, so I have a little something special instead!

Over a year ago, I did a post, featuring a lot of my friends and their nerd ink. Way before I joined the Los Angeles Dumbledore’s Army and started this blog, I didn’t know a lot of people with nerd ink. I knew a few people online, and maybe a couple in real life, but I wasn’t as immersed in the world. As soon as I joined LADA, I saw SO many Harry Potter tattoos, and I felt like…yay, my family!

Book of the Week – The Cuckoo’s Calling by Robert Galbraith

When I first discovered last Saturday that J.K Rowling had written a new book, under a psuedonym and it had been widely accepted and hailed as author to watch… I couldn’t even begin to tell you how happy and excited I was. J.K Rowling is easily my favorite author. What she has done for me, as a writer, a reader, and just a person, with her Harry Potter series…its incredible. She’s a fantastically talented writer, and she’s an inspiration.

J.K. Rowling’s Secret Identity Revealed!

So many of you probably have already heard, but Saturday,  it came to light that an up and coming mystery author, Robert Galbraith, is actually Harry Potter author, J.K Rowling, in disguise. Mr. Galbraith was supposedly an ex-military man and his debut novel had gained many favorable reviews, being held as an “up and coming author to watch”.

The debut novel is entitled, The Cuckoo’s Calling, and is an adult mystery novel, and was released in April.
