YA For NJ: Authors Stepping Up to Help Out

If it weren’t enough that reading is so much fun and teaches me and makes me happy and so on and so forth, it gives back.

There are a billion authors out there that give back. J.K. Rowling fell on the list of Forbes richest because of the amazing amount of money that she spends on charities. Meg Cabot donates all proceeds from her book Ransom my Heart (written as her fictional character Mia Thermopolis) to Greenpeace. John Green has openly donated to plenty of projects. Authors are fantastic.

And here’s just one more reason to remember how amazing authors are.

Top Eleven Badass Fictional Ladies

So a couple months ago (actually kind of awhile ago), I did a blog post on the hottest fictional boy characters. I’m a little boy crazy and I probably could have done more than eleven. But I managed to narrow it down.

Unfortunately, I got some complaints from my small male audience, saying where is the list of hot girls?

So this is the closest thing I can come to this. I mean, I do like girls and I do think every single one of the ladies listed below are pretty damn hot. I also think a ton of them are hot because they are so badass.

Happy Nerdsgiving…I Mean, Thanksgiving!

Happy Nerd Thanksgiving!

Now for those of you living here in the United States, I’m sure you know what this holiday is all about. I’m sure you dressed up in the paper costumes of Pilgrims and Indians back in first grade and you know,you know, just get to the turkey and the Black Friday sales already.

For those of you who don’t know what its about it, its basically this: The Pilgrims came to America to settle in the New World. Thanksgiving marks the first dinner, and meal that the Pilgrims and Indians shared together. Its all about the peaceful bond between the two and how they came together to enjoy this meal and all that fun stuff.

Fake Nerd Girls…or Not?

So, a few days ago, my good friend and awesome contributor, Jackie, did a short little post on her own website called “Fake Geek Girls-Cut the CRAP“.

And it seriously got me thinking.
