Tuesday Top Twelve – Fictional Couples

So you may have noticed a little bit of a difference in today’s Tuesday Top Ten…and that is…its a top Twelve. Mostly because I just couldn’t narrow it down to ten. I probably could have kept going until twenty and made it a Tuesday Top Twenty, but come on,that’s getting ridiculous.

In this boom of young adult literature has borne the term “Shipping”, where you root for two characters to be together, to have a relationship with it. Some of it is canon; where you want these two characters to end up together in the actual content of the book and some of its shipping in fan fiction.

Things to Look Forward to in 2013

The year is halfway over. Its July and its full on summer mode here in Southern California. The 4th of July is that turning point of the year; its half way over.

And I’m sitting here, enjoying my summer vacation before I start my last two years of college, thinking about all the awesome things that have already come out and happened this year. Clockwork Princess. WonderCon. Meeting SO many authors. Star Trek premiere. So many cool things.

But then I was thinking about it, and I was like, there is still SO MUCH MORE to look forward to with the rest of the year. So much more.

Tuesday Top Ten-Best of 2013…So Far

Well, guys, its July 2nd. This year is half over, and I can’t believe there’s still six months of awesome left.

The way I see it…2013 has been MY year so far. I’ve had a great year and I’ve had the chance to do a TON of things, I’ve had the chance to meet SO many people and I’m feeling so good this year. I feel like I’m finally on the right track. And not just in WhatANerdGirlSays world either.

My boyfriend just graduated university and I finally got into university, which means I’m on the downhill slope of my degree. Its just been SO great and I’m so happy.

So this week’s Tuesday Top Ten is a little different, and some of you may be a little disappointed, but I just kind of wanted to recap the awesome that has happened to me this year.

SO here it is: Sara’s Tuesday Top Ten of Best Things About 2013…So Far

Tuesday Top Ten-Favorite YA Female Characters

So I’ve totally already done this Tuesday Top Ten before, but it was kind of my favorite one to do (besides maybe my favorite fictional boy crushes) because there’s SUCH an outpouring of strong, amazing, kickass, well developed awesome female characters out there and I want to be able to share the ones that I like so much with all of you.

I also did this list way back in November and I had probably, hmmm, like five followers back then, which included my dad and my boyfriend and maybe a few friends. Now I have nearly 1000 followers and so I want to write it again, so all my new followers can now see this :)

So here we go! My top ten (err…eleven) favorite female characters in young adult literature!

Tuesday Top Ten-Belated Father’s Day Edition

Okay, visit so I logged into WordPress today to start writing the Tuesday Top Ten, and whoa, its all different. Not hugely different, just vamped up a little bit. So I am momentarily distracted by the new prettiness that is my dashboard…its just so shiny and new…

Okay, sorry.

Moving on, today’s Tuesday Top Ten is a little special. Last month, when it was Mother’s Day, my dear friend Gabby from iFandoms Collide went to an author event where Alyson Noel, Tahereh Mafi, Marie Lu, Kami Garcia, Ransom Riggs, and Margaret Stohl were and asked them who their favorite fictional mothers are. Of course, myself, Tatiana, Gabby, Megan and Sylvia had to jump in and say who our own fave fictional mothers were.

Tuesday Top Ten-Favorite Cliffhangers

So I was hanging out with my girls yesterday, (that would be Tatiana, Sylvia and Paulina, my girls from iFandoms Collide) and of course, most of our conversations center around books. Books books books. I run a young adult book blog, as well as Sylvia, Tatiana runs a Mortal Instruments site and Paulina runs a Divergent site.

Anyway, we obviously were talking about all these books and how we absolutely cannot wait until the sequels or final books, like Allegiant and City of Heavenly Fire and books like that.

And its SO true. There are so many books out there that I just can’t wait for. I can’t wait for Origin by Jennifer L. Armentrout, and House of Hades by Rick Riordan and Allegiant by Veronica Roth and Champion by Marie Lu, and SO so so so many more.

Because let’s face it, these authors? They know exactly how to torture us, how to leave us hanging, dying for the next book, counting down the days just to find out what happens next .

So this is the inspiration for this week’s Tuesday Top Ten: the top ten cliffhangers. These nine books (and one movie) leave us hanging, cursing the authors and lamenting over the fact that we have to wait days, months, years to find out what happens next.
