Divergent #3 Gets a Title and More Veronica Roth News!

For what feels like forever, Divergent fans have been staring at this cover when heading to Amazon to preorder the last installment in Veronica Roth’s Divergent trilogy.

And today she announced that she had BIG news coming for tomorrow. And since its already tomorrow on the East coast (though its not quite tomorrow here in California), she released her BIG news.

The final installment finally has a title!

And the title is:

Allegiant!

Now the official dictionary definition (according to dictionary.com anyway), this means: loyal, faithful.

I think this hints at SO much that could possibly coming in the last novel, especially with the immense cliffhanger that Veronica left us with in Insurgent.

I like it :) Its not what I expected. I think Veronica and the fandom have been joking for ages that the title would be Detergent that we kind of accepted it. It had also been hinted very heavily that the title could be Convergent. But this is what we got and I really like it. Its consistent with the previous titles but just slightly different.

Allegiant will be released on October 22nd, 2013. No word yet on when the cover will be revealed but hopefully soon!

What do you guys think?

One more reminder: Veronica Roth will be appearing at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books this Saturday, the 20th, with Lauren Oliver at 4 pm. Tickets for her particular panel are already sold out (they were the first panel to sell out!) but you can still come and get autographs, at the session immediately after the panel (roughly around 5 pm). I will be there and I hope to see you guys there!

Also for those who haven’t heard, Divergent has officially started filming this week in Chicago. So exciting! Pictures were taken of the cast out on the town, but no pictures yet of filming. Can’t wait to see. Divergent will hit theaters next March!
