Eleven Hottest Fictional Characters…Because I Couldn’t Narrow It Down to Ten

The Ten…Excuse Me, Eleven Hottest Fictional Characters

This of course is according to me. I’m a fangirl and let’s face it, as much as I love magic and blades and action and battles and just straight up kicking ass, I love it even more when the characters are hot. I love to pine away for those characters that kick ass and win their way into the main character’s hearts…and mine too.

So judge me if you will. This may not be a post to change the world, but if you’re a fan girl like me, you totally are on the same page as me. Don’t deny it. I know it.

Also, damn, it was soooooo hard to narrow it down to eleven.

11. Peter Pevensie from Chronicles of Narnia

Image

Let me make this quite clear, I mean Peter Pevensie from the movies not the books. Don’t get me wrong, C.S. Lewis created a wonderful world and great stories. However, I have an issue with his views of women and the way he represents Lucy and Susan. I just…I can’t stand it. I like the movies a lot because they give Lucy and Susan especially more action and you all know that I love a girl in action. Moving on, William Moseley is HOT! His British accent melts any girl’s heart. His character is great too, he is a young boy, leading a country torn to pieces against the powerful White Witch. Sir Peter Wolfsbane of Narnia can ride up on his horse any day and I’ll be happy to go along.

Notable quotes:

“Peter Pevensie, formerly of Finchley. Beaver also mentioned that you planned on turning him into a hat.”

10. Roger Sullivan from Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour

 Image

For those of you who don’t know where he is from, which I’m sure most of you won’t, Roger Sullivan is the main male character in Morgan Matson’s novel, Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour. The basic premise of this book is this: Amy refuses to drive after being involved in the car crash that killed her dad. So Roger, the son of her mother’s friend, steps in to drive her across country to her new home. What starts out as a simple drive across the states turns into an adventure where both the characters learn a little about themselves. Roger Sullivan is hot because he’s up for adventure and because he has some awesome taste in music. He spends the whole trip making new playlists, which are listed at the beginning of new chapters and he has GREAT taste. I seriously have a crush on this guy for his music taste alone.

Notable quotes:

“The best discoveries always happened to the people who weren’t looking for it. Columbus and America. Pinzon, who stumbled on Brazil while looking for the West Indies. Stanley happening on Victoria Falls. And you. Amy Curry, when I was least expecting her.”

9. Rhett Butler from Gone with the Wind

Image

You know the reason why Rhett Butler is so sexy? Its because he is the exact opposite of what a Southern gentleman should’ve been at that time, but he is still successful…and he just doesn’t give a damn. He does what he wants to get what he wants and he is enough to drive any girl nuts. He’s that bad boy that every girl wants. Scarlett sooo wants him the entire novel but she’s not the kind of man she is supposed to want. He’s the bad boy and she has to marry a proper Southern gentleman…until she decides she just doesn’t care anymore and marries him anymore. And she screws up so bad, not realizing how much he loves her and even though it makes me cry every single time because I am so mad at her for messing it all up, I love when Rhett leaves her, so simple, so clean cut. A man with some cajones.

Notable quote(s):

“I believe in Rhett Butler, he’s the only cause I know. The rest doesn’t mean much to me.”

“Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn.”

8. Howl from Howl’s Moving Castle

Image

He’s a wizard, who has a moving castle, the cutest little apprentice ever in Markl and a charming fire demon named Calcifer. And he loves Sophie, who thinks so little of herself and yet is so extraordinarily special. I love the passion that Howl demonstrates when he tries to protect the people from the bombs in the pointless war and I love how much he wants to protect Sophie. He changes his mind about running away and being a coward and he grows up so much because of Sophie and because of his love for her. That combined with the fact that Christian Bale is the voice for the English dub makes for one awesomely hot character.

 Notable quotes:

Sorry, I’ve had enough of running away, Sophie. Now I’ve got something I want to protect. It’s you.

7. Peeta Mellark From Hunger Games

 Image

I’m sure there are going to be a lot people, the ones who know me at least, who don’t understand why Peeta Mellark isn’t higher on the list. I love Peeta, I adore him, I wanted him over Gale the entire time. He is so…funny and real. He has a way of fitting himself into most situations and getting along with everyone. And he so genuinely loves Katniss, he is willing to die in both the 74th and 75th Hunger Games to save her, he’s constantly fighting and working to protect her, even when he’s not sure how she feels about him. He’s willing to marry her, even though it’s not real, because its a way to protect her. He spins perfect lies to keep her safe. And I adore him for that, even though its so unlikely that a boy could be like that. The only reason he is this low on the list is for one reason…and this is more my little beef with Suzanne Collins. There is a scene where Katniss tells Peeta to stay with her and he says “Always”. I’m sorry, but that line belongs to the one and only Severus Snape. That knocked him down a few points in my book.

Notable quote(s):

“I just want to spend every possible minute of the rest of my life with you.”

“Remember, we’re madly in love, so it’s all right to kiss me anytime you feel like it.”

6. William Herondale from the Infernal Devices series

Image

When I first started reading the Infernal Devices (let me warn you, there will be spoilers), I hated Will. God, what an asshole. Jace was always a jerk (read later) but he wasn’t deliberately vindictive and hateful. Will’s attitude toward Tessa was horrible, especially since you knew Tessa had feelings for him. I loved Jem better easily. But then I read the second book of the series, Clockwork Prince, and you learn why Will is such a jerk and you learn just how much he loves Tessa and…oh god, I changed my mind easily. Will is beautiful, dark hair, blue eyes and he is such a talented Shadowhunter and he loves to read and he loves Tessa. This is one Shadowhunter that I would adore to be with…but not as much as another Shadowhunter…Also I think Logan Lerman would make an awesome Will Herondale if they ever decided to make it into a movie.

Notable quote(s):

“We live and breathe words. …. It was books that made me feel that perhaps I was not completely alone. They could be honest with me, and I with them. Reading your words, what you wrote, how you were lonely sometimes and afraid, but always brave; the way you saw the world, its colors and textures and sounds, I felt–I felt the way you thought, hoped, felt, dreamt. I felt I was dreaming and thinking and feeling with you. I dreamed what you dreamed, wanted what you wanted–and then I realized that truly I just wanted you.”

“I could not tell you if I loved you the first moment I saw you, or if it was the second or third or fourth. But I remember the first moment I looked at you walking toward me and realized that somehow the rest of the world seemed to vanish when I was with you.”

5. The Doctor From Doctor Who

Image

He is a time traveling alien from Gallifrey who can take you anywhere in time and space and is extremely clever and charming. If you could make a Sara sandwich, I would super appreciate if David Tennant would take one side (the 10th Doctor) and Matt Smith (the 11th Doctor) would take the other side. There is not one episode with these two where I am not charmed to no end and where I’m not wishing that the Doctor is going to show up on my doorstep and take me away.

Notable quote(s): I literally could pick a million…seriously

 The Doctor: I said “Rose Tyler”.

Rose: Yeah? …And how was that sentence gonna end?

The Doctor: Does it need saying?

4. Michael Moscovitz from the Princess Diaries

 Image

This is the first real crush that I had on a fictional character when I first read the Princess Diaries back in 7th grade, when I was 12 years old. Michael is the hot older brother of Princess Mia’s best friend; he’s a mature senior, who is insanely smart, and musically talented and super sweet. He’s been in love with Mia for years, awkward little Mia, and he’s a super big geek and he literally was my dream boy for years. Then he comes back from Japan after two years and still loves Mia and is still willing to wait for her. Michael is one of my biggest crushes in books because he has literal things I want in a guy. He’s not a dream boy, or something unattainable, he is real! It’s completely possible to find a boy like Michael, and to be quite honest, my boyfriend has a LOT of similarities to him. And Robert Schwartzman, who plays him in the movie, looks exactly like I pictured.

Notable quotes:

Roses are red
violets are blue
you may not know this
but I love you too

3. Han Solo from Star Wars

 Image

Sexiest. Man. Alive. My god. I take it back about Michael Moscovitz being my first real fictional character crush. I easily take that back. You wanna talk about the ultimate bad boy softie? Definitely Han Solo, hands down, easily. Harrison Ford was (is) one of the sexiest men alive and he’s played some badass characters: Han Solo, Indiana Jones, the president of the United States, etc, etc. Now, from the time I was about 6 or 7 years old, one of the only things I wanted to be when I grew up was…Princess Leia. And of course I needed my Han Solo to go along with it. I think Han Solo is sexy, charming, brave and hilarious. He has some of the best lines in the movies, easily. Sigh. Every single time Han Solo says “I know” in Empire Strikes Back, I melt. MELT! And its hot as hell.

Notable Quote(s):

Princess Leia: I love you

Han Solo: I know

2. Sirius Black

Image

I have no idea what it is about Sirius Black. Seriously. (Oh, god, completely unintentional pun). He is my second favorite character after Ron Weasley and I think its because I find him so sexy, and not just because the extremely good looking Gary Oldman plays him the movies. I think it’s the way he carries himself. He has a sly sort of humor, and he’s extremely intelligent but he’s human: he’s selfish, he can be mean, he’s impulsive and he’s badass. Dumbledore says stay in the house? Pssh, no one tells Sirius Black what to do. And he comes into Harry’s life, ready to love him and ready to be there for him, to be that father figure that he needs. It’s just so fantastic.

Notable quote(s):

“We are a part of you. Invisible to anyone else.”

1. Jace Wayland/Morgenstern/Herondale/Lightwood

Image

I have the biggest damn fan girl crush on Jace Lightwood…it’s insane. I’m like a 12 year-old-girl, writing Mrs. Jace Lightwood all over my notebooks or something. From the minute I met him in City of Bones, I was a goner. He’s was hot, charming and snarky and a badass Shadowhunter. And he’s been raised so rough and he doesn’t believe in love or affection…even family love, until he meets Clary. And then you can see him change, fall in love with Clary and love Alec, Isabelle and Max as his siblings and so on. It’s absolutely positively corny but hell it is sexy. Jace Lightwood gets the biggest fangirl turn on for this list for me.  If I’m in the need of a little boost, or I need to hear some awesomely corny, romantic lines, I pick up one of the first three Mortal Instruments and fall in love with Jace Lightwood alllll over again. Can I just say that I am so bummed that Jamie Bower is playing him in the movie? God, I was hoping for Alex Pettyfer so bad.

Notable quote(s):

“There is no pretending. I love you, and I will love you until I die, and if there is life after that, I’ll love you then.”

“And now I’m looking at you,” he said, “and you’re asking me if I still want you, as if I could stop loving you. As if I would want to give up the thing that makes me stronger than anything else ever has. I never dared give much of myself to anyone before – bits of myself to the Lightwoods, to Isabelle and Alec, but it took years to do it – but, Clary, since the first time I saw you, I have belonged to you completely. I still do. If you want me.”

  ******

So these are the eleven guys of my nerd, fandom, fantasy world that I would not mind in the slightest spending the night with. Now you can judge me all you want, but I think you’re lying when you say you have absolutely no nerd crushes.

So let me know what you think of my list, and tell me yours! I’m dying to fall in love with some of those awesome fictional men out there!

  1. Bazingirl says:

    OMG. I am SO into Jace. Part of it is him name. It’s really bad ass. And of course, I have had the BIGGEST crush on Sirius Black for like…..ten years. NO joke. Whenever it was I first read about him. I was HOOKED. He’s….deliciousness. Though in my head he doesn’t look like Gary Oldman, even though I ADORE Gary Oldman. In my head he looks more like….Johnny Depp from Chocolat.

  2. Kendall says:

    You forgot Spike from Buffy. He’s the ultimate female fantasy, the bad boy turned good for love. Joss is brilliant…

  3. Chloe says:

    I don’t know if it’s allowed and I know I’ll totally get judged for reading fanfic, but the Draco from Cassie Clare’s Draco Trilogy is definitely on my list! Also Legolas (saWOON!) and Will Turner. Oh and Marlon Brando in Streetcar. I know I shouldn’t, but I can’t help it! Oh and Westley from Princess Bride. This list keeps growing!

  4. Lizzie says:

    I agree with so many of these! Movie-Peter? Yum. I’ve always had a thing for Sirius Black. And The Doctor (both of them) stole my heart some time last year. Great list! :D

  5. Cheska says:

    Jace is my favorite and I hoping for Alex Pettyfer, too. Really.
    Btw, I love Sirius Black and maybe I’ll add Damon Salvatore. For the book and for Ian Somerhalder XD
