June Book and Blog Wrap Up and July Goals

So I’ve finally picked up on both reading and blogging this month but its because I’ve basically determined that the only thing that I am capable of reading right now is new adult romance. I can’t get through anything else. So I’ll take what I can get and read that. I also am taking part in Jessica Brody’s 30 books in 3 months challenge, which normally wouldn’t even be hard for me but it is definitely proving to be a little difficult so thank GOD for romance right now haha. I also finally have the blog up and running and healthy and no viruses or weird links or any of that so I’m hoping that sticks too!

I am expecting July to be really slow now that I have Benched edits in my hands but we’ll see…

Waiting on Wednesday {49}

This year has been utter Twilight nostalgia for me. For one, I reread the entire series and honestly, thoroughly enjoyed it. Its not great but it reminds me of being a teenager and its just so fun. I read Crave by Tracy Wolff and absolutely loved it – it felt like a 2020 version of Twilight. Then I went to Seattle for my birthday and took a day trip to Forks and La Push and Port Angeles and it was WONDERFUL and amazing. I have been in Twilight heaven all year – so this week’s Waiting on Wednesday is all about the book that is the cherry on top of an already Twilight-tastic year!

Top Ten Tuesday – Most Anticipated Releases for the Second Half of 2020

The Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly challenge post previously hosted by The Broke and Bookish and now hosted by The Artsy Reader Girl. You can follow along for each weekly post here. This week’s post is all about the books coming in at the second half of the year that I’m excited for. I’ve admittedly been SO slow with reading this year but that doesn’t mean there aren’t books coming SOON that I’m not excited for so…

Here we go –

Book Review: From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L Armentrout

Chosen from birth to usher in a new era, Poppy’s life has never been her own. The life of the Maiden is solitary. Never to be touched. Never to be looked upon. Never to be spoken to. Never to experience pleasure. Waiting for the day of her Ascension, she would rather be with the guards, fighting back the evil that took her family, than preparing to be found worthy by the gods. But the choice has never been hers.

Benched – A New Adult Sports Romance – ARC Sign Ups Are Happening Now! {And You Don’t Have to be a Pro to Get One…}

Now that the Awakened Duology is back in the world again, and available for paperback and various ebook retailers, I can stop and focus on the really important book, BENCHED.

Benched is my brand new, new adult romance coming this September 22nd. Its my new adult debut and it is the first time that I’m self publishing a brand new novel with…well, confidence and knowledge and know-how and all of that. I’m seriously excited to be bringing this book into the world. I’ve been working on some version of this story since I was in high school and I’m excited that its finally going to be shown to the world. My editor is working on the final edits right now and loving the book so I’m feeling SO great about it. I have great preorder campaign incentives coming and I’m just SOOO excited.

Now, though, its time for ARC sign ups!!! I will be giving out a limited amount of physical ARCs and a BUNCH of e-ARCs in the hopes of drumming up some interest and love for Benched before its released this fall.

This is important – Yes, I definitely want to hear from those who book blog or have a bookstagram account or a BookTube channel or post reviews religiously on GoodReads but if you don’t do any of the above – that’s okay! If you like to review books on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, etc, I still need your help!

TV Show Review: Love, Victor

Yesterday was the Hulu premiere of the brand new show, Love, Victor. Only ten episodes long, I spent most of day binge watching this show. I absolutely love everything written by Becky Albertalli and I loved the movie, Love, Simon so I was definitely ready to watch this show. There are so many things that I absolutely loved about this show and I’ll say it –

Disney+ totally messed up by letting this gem go.

Here’s my review. I’ll do my very best to keep it as spoiler free as I possibly can, especially since it JUST came out yesterday and is a brand new story that has never been told before.
