Top Ten Tuesday – Books By My Favorite Authors That I Still Haven’t Read

The Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly challenge post previously hosted by The Broke and Bookish and now hosted by The Artsy Reader Girl. You can follow along for each weekly post here. This week’s post is about what books I haven’t read by authors that I adore. I know, its hard to believe that this happens, but it so does, and I’m 100% guilty of it!

Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy by Cassandra Clare

I own this book and I think I even read a part of it…I know that some of the stories in this book connect to The Dark Artifices – which I have read – but I just can’t get into it. I adore Simon but it just feels forced. But I do want to eventually get through – I want to know more about Simon becoming a Shadowhunter and being a parabatai for Clary and being with Izzy. All of that. I just haven’t gotten around to it yet.

Stormcaster by Cinda Williams Chima

I bought this book almost as soon as it released and…well, realized within about ten pages that I didn’t remember the first two books well enough. I had read both Flamecaster and Shadowcaster about a year prior to their releases but didn’t get an ARC for this one so it had been about TWO years since I’d been in the series. I need to do a reread of the whole series but it makes me so sad that I’m 100% complete with Cinda besides this book. So…98%? I’m bad at math.

The Silkworm, Career of Evil and Lethal White by Robert Galbraith aka JK Rowling

I feel like this totally makes me a terrible person but honestly, I just haven’t gotten to it! I read the first book and bought the second book but my Kindle crashed while I was on vacation, in the middle of reading The Silkworm, and I had gone to ALA, so I had so many many ARCs and…just never got back to it. I definitely need to get through this series. I enjoyed it a lot and really want to see what happens.

The Forgetting by Nicole Maggi

This makes me sad that I’ve never read this because Nicole is one of my absolute favorite people and I don’t know how I haven’t gotten here yet. It actually is on sale right now for only $1.99 so I don’t think I have an excuse anymore for not having read this book. How is it possible that I managed to read her entire trilogy but not her standalone novel? Terrible friend, I am lol.

Stick by Andrew Smith

To be fair, Andrew is a very prolific writer and I feel like I’m still catching up with him. His newest, Rabbit & Robot, just came out tonight so of course I will be focusing on that. But I feel like this one just keeps slipping off my radar and its the ONLY one I haven’t read of his…I don’t even know that I own it. Its definitely one that I need to get to and I’m sure I will…eventually.

The Midnight Star by Marie Lu

This is another – oh yay, time for the next book, crap I forgot what happened in the other books moment because…I got ARCs for the first two and not the last one so it was honestly about two years in between! I need to purchase this book and then do a reread of the whole series because I’ve read the entirety of the Legend series and I just finished reading Wildcard so I’m good on that duology…its very sad that I haven’t finished this series.

Always and Forever, Lara Jean by Jenny Han

I feel like I keep repeating myself but a lot of the reason I haven’t read these is because I just forgot to and then I need to do a reread. I bought this when it came out but just totally forgot to read it and now I know I need a reread, especially since I’ve watched the movie, oh, about a trillion times at this point and I know that there are differences but its all kind of fuzzy to me at this point. I really want to know how things end, but yeah, a reread of the first two books is definitely in order first.

Ice Like Fire and Frost Like Night by Sara Raasch

I count the first book as making Sara a favorite because it was so freaking incredible and I fell in love so so fast. I own the other two books but first, I was in a terrible, terrible reading slump for about a year and then when I was getting out of that, the last thing I wanted to do was read fantasy. I’ve been on a fantasy kick lately – mostly because I’ve been forcing myself to finally read the Throne of Glass series – so I’m super super hoping to get to it soon.

Tell the Wind and Fire by Sarah Rees Brennan

I adore Sarah and have read most of her other books but this is one that I super super want to read, I own it, signed, and I still have yet to read it. Sad face. I loved the fact that it was a standalone because series are so overwhelming (I’m on the 5th book of the Throne of Glass series right now) so maybe this is something I’ll read after that – I think I could use a break from series.

The Siren by Kiera Cass

Kiera Cass is easily one of my favorite YA authors – I recently started rereading The Selection because I remembered how freaking good it is and then I remembered how I own this book and have started this book but still have yet to read it. Such a disappointment. I’m sure its another book in my pile that I’ll have to get to but its Kiera! Its bound to be amazing!

Bonus – Empire of Storms and Tower of Dawn by Sarah J Maas

I was SO behind in the Throne of Glass series – I read Throne of Glass, and Crown of Midnight and bought Heir of Fire on release day and then….just fell off the map with it! I kept buying the books as they came out, but I just couldn’t get back to them. Then after reading the entirety of the Court of Thorns and Roses series this past winter, I was ready to finish ToG, especially since the last book is coming out. I’ve since finished Heir of Fire and Queen of Shadows and I’m currently working on Empire of Storms. These will be books that are off my haven’t read list very very soon.
