Why I’m Waiting:

I was lucky enough to meet Emily and Austin about a year ago, at an event for Epic Reads in Los Angeles, and when they told me that they were soon-to-be debut authors, I knew I wanted to check out their book. It was so great, such a strong contemporary novel and I thoroughly enjoyed the heck out of it. I loved that the main character was a little unlikable and that it took time for you to get to love her and, even though I am NOT AT ALL a Shakespeare fan (sorry Austin and Emily!), I really loved the Romeo and Juliet connection in it. It was romantic and fun and it was such a stellar debut. Now I’m sitting here, super excited for their sophomore novel, because it seems like another sort of unlikable character who needs to redeem herself and a connection to one of the Shakespeare plays that I don’t mind as much – hey, I’m a 10 Things I Hate About You fan! ;) In all seriousness, I’m super anticipating this book because they had such a strong debut and I honestly feel like their sophomore novel is going to be great. Now if only I could get my hands on an ARC…
