Attention All So Cal Wizards! So Cal Wizarding Weekend!

This a blog for all you Southern California wizards. If you love Harry Potter and you love having a good time, and you live in Southern California (or are close!) then So Cal Wizarding Weekend is the weekend for you!

So Cal Wizarding Weekend is a little less than a month away, taking place on the dates of November 2nd to 4th, with three awesome events to look forward to. One of these events is an  unofficial annual event taking place at the Happiest Place on Earth every November…and now its transformed into an amazing three day event!

Friday, November 2nd will be the Wizarding Weekend Dinner at The Cellar in Fullerton, California. Theere is gong to be a special menu for those who attend this event. It is reservation only! You can go to The Cellar’s website and go to “click to shop” to purchase your tickets to this one of a kind dinner. From what I know of it, its going to be a character dinner with some of your favorite characters making an appearance, similar to a Disney dining experience.

I’m skipping Saturday and moving on to Sunday, because Saturday is a big event and I want to share that last .

On Sunday, November 4th is the unofficial annual Harry Potter Day at Disneyland. This is the 6th annual event, taking place at the good ol Mouse House in Anaheim, California. I’ve never attended this event, which is kind of crazy because I live so close to Disneyland and have had an annual pass for years. It’s amazing that I’ve never been. I know that everyone meets at a certain spot in the beginning of the day, that there are fun scavenger hunts and things like that. They have “first years to the boats” and go on Jungle Cruise or the Mark Twain Riverboat. I’ve heard its a ton of fun and this will be the first year that I’ll be attending and I’m really really looking forward to it. You can find out more information on this particular event at their facebook page here.

The motherload of the events though is the Saturday, November 3rd event: The First Ever Harry Potter Bowling Night, being organized and put together by the amazing people at the Los Angeles Dumbledore’s Army. This event will be taking place at Palos Verdes Bowling Alley in Torrance, California and is going to be a night of seriously awesome amazing nerd fun. Now these are the same people that brought you the first ever Harry Potter Skating Night back in April of this year. This event was off the hook, and it was more than our group expected it to be. Over 600 people showed up and it was a blast! There were cool handmade Potter stuff to buy and butterbeer to drink, a costume contest and plenty of Potter music to skate to!

Now, my amazing group is bringing you Bowling Night. The entire bowling alley is reserved for this event, and there’s going to be so much fun. The pricing is decent, there’s going to be awesome memorabilia again and Butterbeer to enjoy, as well as some unique Potter cocktails for those of you 21 and over. There’s going to be a costume contest and a free raffle contest as well. It’s going to be so much fun and I literally cannot wait for it. There’s more information at the event page on facebook, so make sure to stop by and R.S.V.P with your “yes”! You will regret not attending this amazing event. And if you do manage to stop by, come by the Welcome Witch table to say hi to me! I’ll be the assistant to the Minister of Magical Events and will be stoked if you come by to say hello :D

So there you have it folks, an amazing weekend coming up very very soon that is tailored perfectly for Potterheads here in California. I urge all you Califorians to make an appearance at these events, especially the Bowling Night. You will not regret attending these events. What could be better than getting together with fellow Potterheads and enjoying a good dinner, or partying it up at a bowling alley or hitting the Happiest Place on earth? I can’t think of anything…except maybe a nice slice of chocolate cake…mmmm….well anyway, I hope that you guys check it out, click on any of the links above for more information and feel free to ask me any questions!

And for those of you not in Southern California (or even Central or Northern California willing to make a drive), I urge you to get out there and start some of these awesome events! Hit up your local bowling alley or skating rink or whatever and meet fellow Potterheads or Star Wars nerds or Trekkies or whatever you’re in to! I promise, it’ll be fun :D

Hope to see you all at these awesome events!
