I Got a New Tattoo!

So as you all know, I seriously LOVE tattoos, and mostly, I love fandom tattoos. Nerd tattoos. I already have six, six tattoos that I love so much and I am so ridiculously proud of. Check them out.

Well, yesterday, I went and got my 7th fandom tattoo. A Doctor Who tattoo!

Here’s the thing: I have a sort of theme with *most* of my tattoos and that theme has to do with fear, and the idea of fearlessness and courage and conquering and accepting your fears. I am a fearful person, an anxious person and sometimes I can hold myself back because I’m afraid. Its something that I want to get better at it, and I am getting better at it. But I like to get tattoos representing that to help remind myself that I can be brave and I can conquer the fears that I have.

Because, I know I can never truly conquer your fears. Sometimes fears will always be there. Its like what’s said in Divergent, “Fear doesn’t shut you down. It wakes you up.” Fear is not a bad thing to have, and fear doesn’t make you weak, it makes you stronger…but only if you accept your fears and you find a way to live with them, and use them to your advantage.

So this tattoo right here is the word “fearless” written in Circular Gallifreyan, the language of Gallifrey, the planet where The Doctor, from Doctor Who, comes from. I continued the idea of my fearlessness theme in my tattoos.

I also got this tattoo because of my love for Doctor Who. I won’t lie: I have only been a fan for a few years, when people bugged me so much to watch it that I knew I had to sit down and do so. I can’t believe it took me as long as as it did for me to watch this show. Its absolute brilliant. It has all the fun and adventurousness needed in a family science fiction show, but it also keeps you on your toes, is full of passion and emotions and really has a ton of lessons and morals in it that I agree with. Its a truly, truly special show.

So I got this tattoo. I was SO extremely nervous for it, because its very simple but its also extremely technical as well. There are a lot of small curving lines and straight lines and they have to be perfect in a tattoo like this. I am really impressed with the work that was done, and I am SO happy with it :) I am happy to call it my tattoo and am proud of it.

I, of course, have many tattoos (okay, two, at the moment: Divergent and Infernal Devices) planned, and of course, I am always looking for nerd tattoos from YOU GUYS to share in my tattoo features. I hope you all love this tattoo as much as I do and I hope to see some of YOUR tattoos as well!

I love your tattoos! I only have one so far (Queen Anne Boleyn’s “the most happy” written in a script font behind my left ear), but I plan to get more. I definitely want a Harry Potter or Mass Effect themed tattoo, haha! :)

Thanks Nikki :) I love my tattoos too! Haha. Your Anne Boleyn tattoo sounds seriously amazing. I’m a history major so I got all geeky at that

Hiya :) So, I’m a self-proclaimed Nerd and I have my own little piece of nerd ink. Reading all these mini bios made me tear up a little as I realised that these reasons put into words how I feel about the fandoms that I consider myself a part of; and how being a nerd really and truly shaped me. So thanks for making my day and giving me so many more reasons to love the fact that I’m nerdy, inked and proud of it!
