Hello everyone! Merry merry Christmas to you all! I hope that you all had or are having a wonderful Christmas.
And if you don’t celebrate Christmas, I hope you enjoyed Hanukkah and Kwanzaa and Winter Solstice and any other holiday or not!
I also you all got the nerdiest presents! I know I did :) I have a ton of new books to read, including the song of ice and fire series (game of thrones for those who don’t know) and the Heir trilogy by Cinda Williams Chima. Plus I have a ton of gift card money to spend on books and other nerdy goodness at Barnes and Noble and Amazon.
I also got a TON of Los Angeles Angels stuff for Christmas. I love me some baseball and Mike Trout, the 2012 AL Rookie of the Year, is one of my favorite players…and I got a scarf and beanie and a Mike Trout Lego and Mike Trout hat and pin. It’s super awesome.
Oh man and my mom made me a Luna doll, it’s absolutely fantastic! She made Harry, Ron and Hermione dolls for my cousin Grace and Fred and George for my sister Jessica. I’ll have to post pictures later; they are amazing. She could definitely set up an etsy and sell them!
My boyfriend outdid himself once again. The guy spoils me rotten; I swear, every year, I’m like…damn my presents pale in comparison to his! We’ve been together nearly five years and of course we have talked about our future together and I’ve told him that one thing I really want to do with him before we settle down one day is travel. I haven’t been out of my own backyard very much and I want to go out and see!
So in a few weeks, as my Christmas present, my boyfriend booked us a room at the fancy Fairmont hotel in San Francisco to start our adventures in travel! It’s such a sweet and romantic gift…and it shows how much he listens to me :) I seriously cannot wait, I haven’t been there since I was a kid and it’s going to be so great!
But I think the best part of the holidays is spending time with my family…all of them. I love spending Christmas Eve with my mom and her family and Christmas Day with my dad and his family. And now I have an extended family and I get to spend Christmas Eve with my boyfriends family as well…and it’s all good people and good food and I love it.
So I hope you all had a great holiday and that you have a fantastic new year as well! Look for some “Best of 2012” posts coming very very soon! Also, a review of the Doctor Who Christmas special!
What did YOU get for Christmas? Let me know in the comments!
I don’t celebrate Christmas, but my birthday is the 24th and I got a framed signed photo of David Tennant!!! It may be the best present I’ve ever gotten!
That is WONDERFUL and I am definitely, definitely jealous!
Please let me know what you think of the Song of Ice and Fire series when you get around to reading it! I got partway through the first book over the summer but had to take it back to the library before I went out of town, and I never did get back to finishing it. :/
I read the first book, The Game of Thrones…and it took me awhile to get through it. I love the show though so I’m going to give the books another try
