Tuesday Three

I know, I know, it’s Wednesday. I feel like a jerk because I have written anything in AGES but here it is: The Tuesday Three.

For those of you who don’t know what the Tuesday Three is, please read previous entry, which explains what the Tuesday Three is AND is also the first of many to come.

LIke I said, I’m sorry that its been SO LONG since I posted anything but I’ve been busy, starting school and writing my second novel and sobbing into my pillow because my charger for my laptop broke and it kept me from all of you wonderful people! But I got my brand spanking new charger in the mail today (yay!) and I am back, ready to nerd up with all of you!

1. My New Children’s Lit Class

Seriously, you know what the first thing we did in this class was? We read The Cat in the Hat and then analyzed it. That was the most fun I’ve had analyzing a book…ever. Today we talked about the history of children’s literature. We’re going to be reading Charlotte’s Web and Esperanza Rising and Holes and all the old school fairy tales where it’s not happily ever after like the Disney versions (which I do love) but the gross, grisly ones where there’s blood and …other stuff… I am so excited about it. We all know that I LOVE to read and that I adore children’s books and young adult fiction so this class is perfect for me. I kind of took it as just a “well I need 3 more units so why not?” kind of class but now I’m really really excited for it. We even get to do a picture book presentation. Maybe I’ll do Goodnight Pond or Wookie the Chew!

2. Doctor Who, Series 7 Premiere

I won’t get much into that right now. For one thing, it hasn’t happened yet. Two, I plan on doing a nice long review/post about it after the actual episode. I’m really excited about though. After waiting what seems like FOREVER since I finished series 6, and then waiting forever just to find out when it was coming back, I’m just super stoked that it’s so soon! Only a few days away. My boyfriend and I are planning on watching some of our favorite episodes of Doctor Who that day, a sort of marathon leading up to the premiere and I’m hoping to make some Tardis cupcakes. And what I mean by Tardis cupcakes is that I’m going to make cupcakes with blue frosting and use black frosting to write TARDIS on them. Haha. I’m not the most creative of bakers but it’s going to be a blast! Series  7 premieres Saturday night for the U.S. and U.K. and Sunday night for Australia. Other countries, I’m sorry, :( not quite sure when it premieres for you!

3. Wookiee the Chew

So I did a post a couple weeks ago about Goodnight Pond by James Hance. I loved it so much that I just HAD to buy his other parody children’s book, Wookiee the Chew. I just got it in the mail a few days ago and its just as adorable as Goodnight Pond.  The story has the same sort of feel as a Winnie the Pooh book, for those of you who have read the original Pooh books by A.A. Milne, but it has all that you love about Star Wars, and even some cute quotes to go along with it. It’s definitely another win for Hance and the best part of the book is that the proceeds from the book go to Hugs for Maddy, the organization started to help his daughter, who is pretty sick. A win-win in my book :D

So that’s all for the Tuesday Three today (yes, I know it’s Wednesday!). I’ll be posting very very soon I promise, and most definitely I’ll be back to share the awesomeness that is series 7 of Doctor Who.

As always, share your thoughts in the comments :D
